Addicted already

Hi,
I'm a newbie, but already addicted to this site.

I used to travel regularly for work, but that has substantially decreased over the past couple of years. So now I am looking at maximising my personal travel dollar. (If only I had found this site sooner!!!)

I have only been using the site for a week or too - the info in here is pretty awesome!

Yes I've become a points chaser over the years, very little I don't rack up on my CC's, nothing like a good JASA either (Mrs Lime loves J), since becoming SG some time ago decided not going back if I can help it.

Sure, there are some great tips around here to save travel money, but what will probably happen is that you'll spend the amount you save and find yourself just a few points shy of Silver or Gold or whatever and have to spend even more to get those last points to make the next level.

Anyway, welcome aboard. It's a fabulous resource, a great time waster, a place to while away the hours talking travel and stuff. What sort of flying have you done so far? The shuttle between SYD-MEL (or similar) or more interesting places?

Too true. I'm off to Sydney next weekend for no better reason than I can. It's only 10 SCs there + 10 back, but does that count as my first status run?

I have QFF Gold but am just short of WP ...again. Unfortunately, i just don't have the time to make a status run prior to the end of the month.

I used to do the BNE - PER run regularly. This year though I have made a couple of Kangaroo to LHR and CDG. That reminds me - i'm missing some points/SCs for an Air France leg...

I am off to Hong Kong this weekend for 10 days. Mrs pdl7's work is paying, but they are sending us in Y. It is part of a big group booking, so we couldn't arrange an upgrade. And we are going CX so i can't use QFF points to upgrade.

But that really is a #firstworldproblem as we are getting free flights to HKG!
