I am travelling to ZQN on J* non-stop from MEL and purchased my tickets on jetstar.com and did not add any bundles etc during the process. Is it possible to add the bundle that earns QF status credits and points to just one of the passengers (myself)? Or should I have booked myself separate to the rest of my family?

If I am able to add this bundle to my booking, will this flight count as one of the 4 segments required to maintain/attain QF status?

Thanks

I am not sure of the answer regarding adding the bundle to only 1 on the booking, but you can add bundles through "Manage Booking", so have a look there.

Yes it would be.

That's what's stated on JQ's website, but, AFAIK no-one has managed to find that option.

you cant add a plus bundle later without rebooking afaik

I haven't been able to find it either. :(

the plus bundle adds flexibility to fares whereby you can change for just the fare difference, you chose a starter fare so you will have to pay to change your ticket, a call will be required. This will require paying to change your flight plus the fare difference
Fare/Bundle ChangesSubject to payment of Change Fee and Fare Difference applicable at time of change, Starter fares can be changed to an available Starter, Starter Fare with Plus Bundle, Starter Fare with Max Bundle, Business Fare or Business Fare with Max Bundle.

Or try changing the flight (to the same flight) and see what new options are then presented?

But maybe a split of the bookings is also needed. Not sure how JQ does that!

My dad was in a group booking and I had to call up to add a bundle. The booking was split and I had to pay a change fee and fare difference, as per what Aussie_flyer has pointed out.

Thanks for the responses guys. Tried changing the flight online and it asks for some ridiculous amount of fare difference plus $50 change fee per passenger.

Anyone know if the free flight that comes with the QF AMEX PLAT will count as segments for the 4 required for status?

I have done several of the Amex award tickets & I received points, SC & squiggles for the flights. They must be on non-stop flights though eg PER/SYD/PER not PER/xMEL/SYD etc. I nested the ticket positioned BNE/PER then flew PER/SYD on the outbound leg of the Amex ticket then added a sale fare SYD/BNE to connect back home.

A couple of months later I positioned BNE/SYD to link up with the SYD/PER return sector of the Amex ticket then did a one way award flight PER/BNE.

It's crazy that they don't allow adding bundles to only some passengers. If I want to book 2 adults with bundles and 2 kids without bundles, the website doesn't allow it. Surely this would be easy

I agree with your observations.
The only way around this is to make a separate booking for the pax who require the bundles, but then you have the disadvantages associated with the family split up on separate PNR's.

With the different bundles, they are separate fare classes, so like all other reservation systems different fare classes for different people means different bookings.

Except in this case, I'm not sure how well they will go booking the 2 adults with bundle on one ticket, and then booking 2 kids (no adults) on a separate ticket.
