Hi all, while not an introduction I thought I'd say I'm back after many months. I needed a break after a number of family, friends and past work mate all seem to die at the same time, some in tragic circumstances.

I just didn't have the energy for a lot of things and sitting in front a computer was one of them as was dealing with idiot rental car companies and hotel booking staff. It's when these things happen you decide you'd better get your priorities sorted out.

What prompted me to log in today was; yesterday my father, an original Qantas FF was sent a thankyou letter with a stamped metal boarding pass to celebrate 30 years membership and support. (my father is old and frail these days and doesn't fly) but that goodwill (form) letter was enough to get me back on the site today.

Matt
PS, good to be back.

Welcome back BAM1748!

Sorry to hear you've had so many issues to deal with. Can really drag you down.

Welcome back. Looking forward to see you again

Matt thanks for your post. Yes you can defeat adversity.
I looked up when I joined and I am at 28.5 years so your dad is a legend.

Sounds as though you have had a hard few months, I hope life is slowly improving for you. Welcome back, and hope to see you posting again.

Welcome back. It has been too long.
I checked my membership year, and 30 years comes up for me in 2018. So I may have missed out on a silver BP.

Welcome back and a nice little touch to recognise 30 years

Has anyone else received one of these special passes lately?

As we get older we have more friends who are really struggling with their health. I avoided funerals until recently but now I realize it can be a celebration of a friends life.

I agree. Just attended a long time friends funeral recently. He died (age 61) from an accident in the home. So no warning. Sad to go with so much more time left on the clock.
