Mrs Paddy and Jnr Paddy are travelling JFK-LAX on an Aaward, flight AA133.
I'm on the same flight, also on an Aaward, but with a different Record Locator.

We then all travel to SYD from LAX, QF108 on JASAs, with a 3rd Booking Reference No from QF.

Can we just lob up to JFK and check our luggage through to SYD?
Get boarding passes for both AA133 & QF108?
If not, what do I need to tell QF and AA to make it all happen?

Can we xfer terminals without walking from 4 to TBIT?

We've a 5 hour layover in LAX and while I'm sure we can use the TBIT Flounge I'm not sure it's so good that we shouldn't think of roaming outside but I haven't a clue where to go or what to do. Ideas appreciated

Checking your baggage through shouldn't be a problem. Just show the AA staff your e-ticket details (not just the pnr). Keep your baggage reciepts. I'm not sure about the BPs, but you probably need to go to a qantas desk at LAX to show the bag reciepts and get the BPs.

When you check in at JFK, present all your e-tickets (they need the e-ticket numbers).

Your bags will be tagged right through and you will receive both BPs.

When you get to LA you can catch the bus to transfer airside from T4 to TBIT, but you may as well hang out in the T4 lounge as it's less crowded and they actually prefer you to do so.

At the T4 lounge you can see the QF rep to get your QF reprints.

Five hours anywhere near that most horrible of all Flounges? You might consider leaving the airport and go shopping- there's a pretty neat Westfield shopping mall just a ten minutes cab ride from LAX. Plus, of course, if you're so inclined, you could also use that time for a hearty dose of Taco Bell, Danny's or whatever unhealthy American food you and your family might fancy :p

If you are in to plane spotting, grab a burger at the In and Out on Sth Sepuvleda Blvd, otherwise jump in a hire car and head for Santa Monica.
