Hi AFFers,
We're traveling on a round-the-world F ticket, flying from the Caribbean to Rio next week.

Currently booked SXM-MIA(J on AA)-GRU(F on AA 777-200)-GIG(Y on TAM)... interestingly the TAM leg, which was paid for separately, is showing up in my Qantas booking online.
Obviously I could cut this down by over 4 hours by going SXM-MIA-GIG if I go on a 2-class AA 767 in Business from Miami to Rio.

I haven't flown Long-Haul AA for a very long time, and one of us is 6'7... would the leg in Business from Miami to Rio just be too uncomfortable for someone that tall (who could be flying First via Sao Paolo)? Or is it the similar to the Qantas Skybed MK-I?

Thanks in advance.

In my opinion the SXM-MIA-GIG in J on the 767 is worse than the Qantas Skybed MK-I? I would go first class to Sao Paolo and enjoy the flight. Just my two cents worth as well, the service is J on AA is below that of most other airlines, the only factor in favor of J on the older 767's is that often the fare is significantly cheaper than most other airlines. However this will all change when the newer 777's start rolling out with their flat beds (which they have on some of the MIA-LAX route). In short, definitely go F to Sao Paolo, at the height of 6' 7" it would be agony on the tilt beds on offer in the 767 J class.

We ended up doing F to Sao Paulo, and I think the decision was worth it... even if the domestic flight in Brazil was like a flying bus lol...
