I booked a sole US domestic flight on AA. My QFF no is in the booking so hopefully i can get status recognition.
On the QF site in the list of bookings it doesnt show up. Is that normal for AA bookings? Ive had BA & CX bookings show up after i enter my details on their site.
Ive had other AA flights that are either booked under a QF codeshare or as part of a larger QF itinerary show up.

Anyone with experience would be greatly appreciated.

Just trying to avoid having a missing points claim later if i can.

Yes it’s normal. AA uses a different reservation system to QF which is way you can’t see the booking. BA and CX use Amadeus which is the same system QF uses.

On the QF site in the bookings list, you'll only see flights operated by, or connecting to/from, a carrier using the Amadeus GDS. Most of oneworld uses this system (JAL is in the final stages of changing over). AA uses Sabre.

As an example, take the following flights
1. LHR-ORD Day 1 BA (AA codeshare)
2. ORD-SEA Day 4 AA
3. SEA-LAX Day 6 AA
4. LAX-SYD Day 6 QF

Flight 1 is operated by an Amadeus, so it will show up on the QF site. As it is a codeshare, it will also show up on the AA site and will have 2 booking references.
Flight 2 is unrelated to any Amadeus flights. It will only show up on the AA site and won't have an Amadeus reference.
Flight 3 is in Sabre, but connects to an Amadeus flight. It will show up on both sites.
Flight 4 is a QF flight, so will show up on the QF site. As it connects to a Sabre flight, it will show up on both sites.

It is possible to run into the same issue with EK. EK uses its own in house GDS, which they call ABC. (EK DXB ground staff checked me in for tonights QF1 hours early :D and mentioned some differences between QF and EK systems when Amadeus only printed 1 bag tag (instead of 2) and she had to work out how to get the 2nd to print. Comes down to a lot more can be done in the QF system then the EK system, but the EK system is a lot easier to use.)
