Have been looking closely on current bonus points promo - Fly 2 get one free. See FT thread: New Promo: AA25X; Fly Two, Get One Free - FlyerTalk Forums

My question is will I qualify for the points on this promo if my registered address is in Australia? The T&C state: "* Offer valid for residents of the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands only" BUT all of AA promos seem to contain this condition and yet I have received bonus miles in the past.

I need to fly to the US in the next couple of months so am toying with the idea of doing so during the promotion period to take advantage of this promo. I don't want to pay for flights just for this promo if there is no hope of me ever receiving the points. Have any Oz based AA flyers been successful with this type of promo before (thinking ORD fly 3 promo etc)?

Advice appreciated :)
