AA Advantage Award assistance

I would like to find business class availability from Sydney to Shanghai return around late December, coming back early January, but cannot find any. I have called AA Advantage a few times but they say to check back another time. Does anyone know if I might have any luck with this at some point or does anyone know what I can do to try to find these award flights. I have tried multicity routes etc but to no avail.

If there is no availability..then Im not sure what you expect to be able to do???

Absolute peak time...and booking this close in? I think all you can do is hope for availability close in... far from ideal.

I hope someone with more knowledge chimes in!!!!

It's likely the non-stop options exSYD have little or no award availability. But you might find something on Cathay Pacific or Dragonair? I'd search all Aussie ports to Hong Kong (on both CX and QF), then from there to PVG shouldn't be too hard.

CX and KA can't be booked on line, you'll have to call (you can search them however via QF's booking engine).

No chance.Peak season.QF have 1 J award BNE-NRT on 24/11 and nothing after.Nothing in January.
Searched JAL for you and no J awards either direction to/from Japan all December/January though open NRT-PVG.
CX should show up on the QF search so basically nothing available through AA.
