Saturday 28/3/20 sees two A330 services .VA467 (0905- 1535) and VA469 ( 1250-1920). Perhaps this is to do with the launch of BNE- HND? Tickets going in J for 899 stock. Next week and weeks following leaves only VA469 as the A330 service with VA467 as 737. Has Changed as VA467 was the A330 on Sat when I travelled last in October.

Most likely, I expect one to go onto Fiji and one to go to HND.

I bet loads are light.

What a likely waste of a widebody, between 2 smallish cities.

There has historically always been a Saturday morning A330 service to BNE. Aircraft then continues on to NAN on Sunday morning before returning to form an evening departure to PER on Sunday evening.

If you want wasteful widebody cough on VA, check out what some other birds are doing lately. One return PER-MEL a day, and that's it!

There can be days when they don't fly at all.
A PER - MEL isn't too bad considering the flight times., though not ideal.

Interesting what they do between the cancellation of MEL - HKG and the start of the new Tokyo services.

Can do 4 sectors between PER and MEL at full utilisation. Saturday's often see the aircraft stay on the ground, but this has been the case since they were brought in to the fleet. Doing two sectors on a weekday is a significant indication of an effort to increase yields and RSK to balance the books better.

If it means the airline survives, then so be it. I bet they wish they could return two of them.
