Mr NatalieB and I will be in Brisvegas on Saturday.

We arrive at 12.35pm, and have no plans till we see Cirque Du Soleil at 4pm. We'll then head towards the airport for our flight home.

I presume taxi is the best way to get around?

I'm also looking for somewhere to have lunch, not to fussed where. I don't know Brisbane at all, so I'm unsure about distances and travel times. Cost isn't too much of a factor, but we will both be wearing jeans.

Any suggestions?

You couldstay close (ish) to the airport and Cirque site, and have lunch at Portside. There are also lots of nice eateries along Racecourse Rd.

Hertz have some very good weekend specials at the moment. So a rental car might actually work out cheaper than a taxi. Although if you don't know your way around taxis can make things easier.

I agree with Katie, plenty of different types of restaurants at Portside, you are within walking distance to the cirque site and plenty of taxis. Only thing to check would be whether there is a cruise ship in on that day as it can get very busy there when one is docked. If that's the case maybe wander up racecourse road to one of the restaurants there.

Consider jumping onto the Citicat and going to Southbank. Have lunch there and return. This way you will get to see the city from the river. If this could be an option, please let me know where you are actually arriving so I can check the Citicat arrival and departue times. Maybe you will not have quite enough time as it takes about 50 minutes from Bretts Wharf to Southbank.
From memory , I think the circus is close to Bretts wharf near Portside.

Thanks for the citicat suggestion. The plan (at the stage) is to go from the airport to to city, prob Eagle St Pier, have some lunch and then catch the ferry to Brett's Wharf

Natalie_B , sounds like a good plan. Let us know how it worked out. Hope you enjoyed the Circus Show.

It worked out wonderfully. We got a cab to Eagle St Pier, had lunch in the sunshine watching the world go by on the river, caught the ferry to Bretts Wharf then walked to the circus. Circus was good, and then we got a taxi back to the airport before our flight home. Thank you for all of the suggestions, we had a great day.
