I am looking at a trip next year ADEL - CNS - PER - ADEL.

ADEl - CNS and CNS - PER both have direct jetstar flights but I am a little concerned about Jetstar cancelling flights which I hear a bit about.

Is there a website that lists airlines cancellation history to give me an idea if these particular flights have been cancelled in the past.

Thanks

Barry

Try this

I’m not too sure about the flight cancellation issue. Personally I’ve flown with JQ 4 times this year and all the flights have had the same service and been good, other than leg room. I’m due to fly another 3 flights with them in December and am looking forward to it.

yo_barry,

Welcome to AFF.

All airlines have delays and you need to ask why.

If the issues are due to incompetence then avoid them at all costs. If they are due to technical issues then it is good to have the delay as it is safety related and we do not want unsafe aircraft in the skys.

If it is schedule changes then have a look around. All airlines do that and at any given time you may be affected. There is only one airline in Oz that I would shy away from for scheduling reasons and it is not JQ (or DJ or QF) :!:

If cancellation is a big concerned then based upon my experience I would fly Qantas first, Virgin second, and Jetstar last.

All airlines suffer from delays and cancellations ... it's how they deal with them that makes the difference.

P.S. I should add that this analysis is based upon being QFF Gold which skews the data a bit.

I wouldn't get too worried... JQ (Jetstar) whilst yes they are a LCC so read their terms and conditions closely, have a decent sized fleet and unlike another LCC here (hint, it's not Virgin) who have no qualms in leaving people stranded JQ will actually try and get you to your destination somewhat on time.

Incidentally, I had QF cancel flights on me on 3 consecutive weeks a few months back - because of poor loadings. After the 2nd time I booked it on purpose knowing I could pick any flight and only pay the lowest fare bucket. When they rang me to tell me I had new flight numbers all ready :)

So it can happen on any airline but my experience is less likely to occur intentionally on LCC's because they won't have equipment sitting about. Maybe the only advice would be avoid the last flights of a day, delays often grow throughout the day.

I fly Jetstar a few times a month. I've had lots of delays but no cancellations.

As a general rule, JQ flights late in the day can be very delayed if planes go tech or if there is a delay at another airport earlier in the day. They work them on a tight schedule so delays back up pretty quickly.

We have had a few friends fly on the ADL-CNS and the PER-CNS route and have never had cancellations just a couple of delays on the later flights .. The CNS-PER is actually a decent time and the only direct flight !
