What's row 23 like for room?
I normally go the exit rows but I've just had 23 come up so I grabbed just for the hell of it.
I'm only SG, am I likely to get bumped?. Flight is PER-BNE on Tues.

Bulk head row, has extra leg room so you can stretch out a bit but the baby cot is very close so that might be annoying if they are in use. Also, the armrests are immovable so if the seat next to you is free you wont be able to lift up the armrest to spread out a bit more.

If you're under 5ft 8 then legroom is sufficient. Otherwise, Row 35!

I always select row 23 as the reduced legroom is better than having someone recline onto you. Selecting a row 35 exit row seat is good but they go early as anyone can get them.

The biggest negative of row 23 is, even as a P1, QF will move you involuntarily on a regular basis.

Roughly how many out of how many?

It happened last on Friday on my PER-BNE flight. I rang the P1 apologies and excuses team and got the seat change reversed, particularly as the flight was lightly loaded.

I would say one in six flights I get moved from 23B or 23J. As an aside, it is about two in five flights from 1B or 1J (all as a P1 on 767 aircraft). It should be noted that the seat moves are generally not for an infant.

Nothing special about row 23. Only benefit over exit row is getting out of the plane earlier.

I've been bumped out of row 23 several times - often to 24 which have no windows! Stick with 35A/B/J/K if you can.

Can be worse, I was bumped out once of 24D (with shadow) to 23B. Both myself and the gentleman in 23A were P1s and we lost our shadows to a non-status couple who asked to sit together.

I'm of the opposite side of the fence on this one. IMHO there is nothing worse than having limited legroom, I'd prefer to have someone recline a bit rather than not being able to stretch my legs out (whilst seated) for the entire flight. Plus on the 767's I prefer to have a seat in front of to be able to access to the iPad slot and be therefore watch my iPad at eye height and not getting a sore neck by having to look down at it like on the 737's.

Based on this I'm normally in row 24/25/26 D/F depending on the configuration.

Is that the exit row with bulkhead in front?

If it is then it's exactly the same as row 23 and I feel a lot more comfortable in row 23. But to each their own.

Which warped mind thought up that solution?

So 2 non-status passengers have been separated and the best place to put them is in 24DE, give the person that was supposed to be sitting them a spare seat and have 2 Platinum One's sitting together.

Yep. Makes sense. Not.

Just had a look at Expert Flyer & out of all 5 PER/BNE 767 flights only the QF650 has the intl 25/204 config but it looks like 24F (no 23F in front) has already been taken however 23DE look to be available. The only BSCT on this a/c is 23J.

If you're worried about being bumped for an infant but want a bulkhead seat why not go for 24D or 24F on the 30/222 configs as these configs only have BSCT seats in 23B or 23J.

The FIFO mob are pretty savvy about grabbing exit rows and other 'good' seats at the time of booking so you need to get in quick.

I sympathise with parents with infants who have a request for the BSCT than cannot be confirmed at the time of booking only to find status pax sitting there with no infants who can reserve these seats at the time of booking won't move.

Aperentally this couple was moved from another flight and could not find a seat together. After the CSM "asked" me to move (like I would say no) they were nice enough to apologise for the inconvenience and we end up having a nice chat (that's how I learnt they were non-status pax).
At least the CSM didn't move the guy from 23A next to me. That would be funny :)
