Pretty rare for this to come is it not? Good value for domestic airfares but not so much OS?

yeah, 50% bonus is rare. Value seems to be in short hauls. Also some one ways (if you need to connect for example) can be good value... I use avios from China to Hong Kong and China to Japan which are traditionally a high priced markets.

Appreciate the tip!

Purchase page doesn't load for me? No error it just puts the BA site in an iframe on the page...strange. Account has had no activity so that might be why?

edit: It was because of no activity. Transferred 1 avio from Iberia Plus and now the page loads.

I have the same problem with the web browser but I don't have any Iberia Plus miles to transfer to overcome this problem. Any ideas?

This looks like a really good deal but I don't think I can make this work for me as I have generally committed to short haul in paid Y as it's cheaper. Points for longhaul premium cabin cheaper than paid ticket but I don't know if I can get this out of Avios.

Also have AA miles bought waiting to be redeemed.

Despite the temptation I will hold back until I can find an Avios rainbow :)

I actually find buying points and redemptions much harder to figure out than learning about FFPs. Lots of ins and outs.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I've got the same problem and so I've transferred the minimum amount of SPG points to BAEC and hopefully they'll transfer in time before the 30 June cutoff.

Does anyone know whether you can join Iberia Plus and purchase/transfer Avios straight away? If so, that may be a quicker way to enable you to purchase the Avios for BAEC.

EDIT: Apparently not - this is from their website:

Purchasers must have had an Iberia Plus card for more than 3 months or have an Avios balance higher than 0.

I may have found a solution. Buy the minimum 1,000 miles at Avios.com and then transfer these to your BA Exec Club account. The transfer is quoted to take up to three business days so this will cut it fine.

I've seen this recommended elsewhere (can't remember where now) - did you try this and have the Avios transferred already?
