5 additional ATR 72-600s

"Australia’s Skywest Airlines will introduce five more ATR 72-600 aircraft into its fleet, to be operated on a range of routes on behalf of major carrier Virgin Australia. These five aircraft take to 13 the number of firm orders of ATR 72 aircraft placed by the Singapore-based leasing company Avation PLC in 2011 for Skywest Airlines: four ATR 72-500s, which are already operating on Virgin Australia's regional network, and nine new generation ATR 72-600s, the first of which Skywest will receive next year. This new contract for five ATR 72-600s also includes options for eight additional aircraft."

Good news, now configure them with J to take the comp up another notch!

They can be configured with J in a 1-2 layout - even if they did 6 seats (i.e. two rows) one would think it would work on the capital connect services.

Virgin must be really closing the gap with QF mainline in terms of aircraft numbers now, no doubt QF link is in the sights as the next target.

J class on the ATR would be nigh on impossible. Have you seen the 'galley' on these things? An oven the size of a small toaster and one tiny cart stashed away in a bulkhead. Oh yeah, its also right next to the loo....

QF mainline and VA mainline are pretty much the same now i think, it is hard to find up to date numbers though - I will keep looking.
