Was this decided like the World Cup was????? If so....dear oh dear....

Wow. Wasen't expecting QATAR

if this is a true reflection of the travelling public, my haven't Emirates dropped their bundle.

I've heard a lot of people complain lately about EK.... I must say, 3-4-3 in Y on a 777 was never a good idea.

not good anywhere, but QF do it on the 747..........just trying to figure out the difference?

Am i not mistaken that CX do 3-3-3???

I bet it won't be reflected in their profit figures though, and in reality that's all that matters to airlines, sure they
do a bit of spruiking when they win awards like this but the thing that really matters to airline employees is how they
perform on the balance sheet and frankly I don't see Emirates having too many financial problems in the near future.
However having said that the fall of Emirates is interesting when taken in context against the rise of Qatar,my sister flew
Qatar last year and raved about the J class seats which she rated as better than SQ which is quite a rap.
Cheers

CX, SQ, TG all do 3-3-3. MH does 2-5-2, NZ does 3-3-3 (772) and now 3-4-3 (773).

At 17" width (same as QF intl 767s, and for reference seatguru lists QF 744's as 17.2" and 17.5") , I don't think this is the reason EK has dropped, as they've alway been 3-4-3. There are a range of other factors (cheapening of some meals, product inconsistencies in premium cabins, staff variability, Skywards changes, some cheap catering such as second meal MEL-SIN - a single party pie ). Having said that I've flown 7 of the top 10 (not TK, QR or EY) and I'd say they're all pretty close and on any given day one could beat the rest. Once again all Asian & ME carriers, and 7- or if you include NZ & OZ - 9 out of the 10 serving the Kangaroo route. We are ever so spoilt in this part of the world.

they were a joke when i last used them. 1000 people to a shower as well......

EK must be absolutely fuming that they have so many goddam Business Class passengers.;)

......as a side note, a few months back, Emirates suspended all lounge access to their own staff; even when they were on J flights.
So all those hoards of people in the DXB lounges are either paying J or high-tier Skywards pax. Impressive.

Is there a reason QF can't get up past Air Tahiti Nui?

V Australia was named winner of the Airline Staff Service Excellence Australia/Pacific award at the 2011 World Airline Awards, in a ceremony held in the French Air and Space Museum at the Paris Air Show.

The runners-up in the Airline Staff Service Excellence Australia/Pacific category are Air New Zealand taking 2nd place in the category, ahead of Air Tahiti Nui in 3rd position.

I love awards,

I think most of the rankings are reasonable and not too surprising. Good to see a couple of new faces in the mix here and there.

I'm surprised the QF Flounge dropped out of the top 3 though...

.
I'm not these things are pretty rigged. seriously how could FLounge leave even number one spot let alone number 3!!!

If you want to win an award you must first host a dinner!!!

As I've commented before, these "awards" are of questionable value. There is no effort to make them statistically balanced, and probably have little more validity than an ACA or TDTN phone in survey.

The only thing that saves them is that voters know enough/have enough interest to find the Skytrax web site.
