I want to book a MEL-SYD J redemption to try out the new VA product (haven't flown them since the Virgin Blue days) and lounge.

As far as I can see, standard pricing is 11,700 VFF + $21.11 in taxes.

I will be transferring points from Citibank Signature to pay this, and want to transfer precisely the correct amount since I don't normally use VA.

But based on this promo: http://www.velocityfrequentflyer.co...RID=32042372&RMID=VFF_201505_IndirectEarn_SL3 there is a 15% bonus on transfers on Citi, and 15% discount on award bookings.

So does this mean:

1) The actual price will be (11700*.85= 9,945 VFF) + $21.11?

2) Since 1.5 Citi points = 1 VFF, 9,945 VFF = 9945x1.5 = 14,917.5 Citi points

3) BUT due to the 15% transfer bonus, I should be able to get 9,945 VFF for less - so I need only transfer 1.15 x actual transfer = 14,917.5, hence amount needed = 14,917.5/1.15 = 12,971.739 = 12,9712 Citi points?

Also despite the 15% discount on award bookings, when I look at the VFF booking engine it still quotes the 11,700 + $21.11 price - when does it reduce - at check out? Or is 11,700 already the discounted price?

Also, will the 15% bonus on the amount of points transferred into VFF be deposited by VFF automatically? Or will I be stuck waiting?

I'm a complete newbie to VFF and transferring points from Citi, so just want to double check!
