SQ schedule increases to Australia

Looks like SQ is adding more services to Australia from October. MEL and SYD going 5xdaily.

SQ248 to Mel is coming back. I wonder if they will extend this to WLG at some point like they previously used to.

PE is coming back to all routes from MEL and as such I can already see more award availablity on velocity in PE

SQ certainly ramping up capacity into AU. Will be interesting to see if this has any relief on fares.

Customers are certainly voting with their feet. Massive increase in capacity for Sydney, with an additional A380 daily (making two out of four as A380s) and then a fifth service in Dec/Jan.

All new flight loadings are coming up as waitlist (ex Mel, Syd, and ADL) on saver and Advantage
(for peak Dec travel)

I view this as irrelevant.

SQ deleted Gold Coast as a Scoot base. I liked that option as the SQ seats on the A350 are soooo uncomfortable. At least the Scoot seats were OK.

Sadly, it appears that SQ248 MEL-SIN 0700 is being discontinued...it is not showing up for bookings in late April. It was actually quite useful in spite of the early departure time...good for connections to Asian destinations.

There appeared to be many reward seats at this time, and I've seen it many times in spontaneous escapes (30% off). Shame if it is being discontinued.

SQ248 is not discontinued its just sold out on many dates in the near future its Oz school holidays and Easter, Anzac Day in April

Noting, SQ248 looks to be on of the medium haul A350s, which is less common out of MEL, no premium economy.

I also noticed that SQ has brought forward the start date for Brisbane Singapore (SQ265/ SQ266) to 4 August 2024 instead of initially announced Nov 2024.

In which resulted more rewards available (although not much).

Yes unfortunately...the press release says it is the LH config, but EF is showing MH.
