I had a quick search but didn't come up with a definitive answer to this.

As a QFF, we can transfer points to family and friends. Do SG offer the same? I have about 50k and I don't use SG all that often.

No. You can only put up to 5 names ( incl family members) on the list of redemption nominees. And that's it.

The SQ way is to add family members as Redemption Nominees.

Then when you family member wants to use the points they can book them on your miles. If it isn't enough for their return trip, you can use your miles for one leg of the journey and they complete the booking with sectors using their miles.

While it isn't as simple as QF system, it also leaves you with quite a few options.

Also, be cognisant that SQ points do have expiry.

Yes the 3 year expiry is the reason you 5 names need to burn thru those points inside the time limit.
So far so good with SQ for our family where we have 2 accounts so it allows us a maximum of 10 names.
The product has been very good for our family.

You can change those 5 names too, i.e. once you have a flight booked you can change those names, have 5 different nominees and book another flight.

there is a cost for changing the redemption nominees which needs to be factored into the calculations.

Not doubting the T&C's say this but unsure if this actually happens. I made a change to Redemption nominee by fax (misspelt name) and wasn't charged.
The whole reason I did by fax was because there is no ability to change the name online so unsure about charging a fee for something you can't actually do (you can chnage passport etc. details but not the name). Online you can delete a nominee and then later add a nominee but at least for the second of these you don't get charged so unsure how they apply a fee for "changing" a nominee online. Have never tried deleting but think I would be a bit annoyed if they charged for deleting a nominee.

Changing a misspelt name is not quite the same as changing to a different nominee.

I have not needed to change, so I cannot verify the charge, but it would seem very odd if the charges are listed so very clearly for them not to be applied.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Maybe a call to the Call Centre would resolve this. It is obviously not a change of nominee ie correcting a mis-spelling and the passports and DOB were remaining the same. A full service airline such as SQ would probably surprise on the upside rather that the punitive LCC approach.
