AFF Review: Qantas A330 Economy (SYD-SIN)

Agree with your comments Mark 213. It’s definitely not the full economy experience using the First Class lounge and if my recent QF International experience is anything to go by I will not be flying QF any time soon.

What's your tip(s) for surviving the cesspool of Hotel booking websites?

Agree with Lynda 2475. From my recent and past experience (which has not been the best utilising third parties eg Expedia, hotels.com, etc, etc) use all these different sites as a price comparison tool. Then book with the preferred accommodation direct, they will, 99% of the time, match any...

Article: Daytime Flights from Asia to Australia

Austman, Please post and tell us how your experience was. Very curious about this. Jetstar for me to be avoided like the plague! I too, am not a fan of o/night flights from Asia to Australia. Cheers

    Bonza Airline Discussion

Hi Saab34, My reasoning being 346 innocent people who lost their lives. Recent article from Reuters: The deal capped a 21-month investigation into the design and development of the 737 MAX following the deadly crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia in 2018 and 2019. Boeing did not disclose key...

    Bonza Airline Discussion

Personally, I would not choose to knowingly fly in a MAX - regardless of the upgraded flight systems.

    JAL Travel

Thanks scoobs214. Have completed the journey and your comments are correct. Travelled W and had access to the 1st class lounge which was excellent. As you stated we came prepared and all worked out well in the end. JAL were excellent and happy to travel with them again.

    JAL Travel

Thanks for the responses. Booked to fly SYD - HND - LHR soon and Japan still closed to tourists also airside transit hotel still closed so a night in the terminal beckons!

    Wise debit card

Good point. Most reviews I’ve read about Wise refer to the better exchange rate they apply.

Best website for all airfare/airline prices to a destination?

After having been caught by third parties several times, sure - use the mentioned sources to research your flight requirements but book directly with the airline. Third party bookings are just that. No recourse if something goes off the rails.

    Business Class Transit Haneda mid-May

I have a similar issue travelling W SYD-HND 31/5 and then travelling to LHR next day. At this stage, cannot enter Japan. Transit Hotel at Haneda is closed and really it appears the only option for us is an uncomfortable night in the terminal. The Sakura lounge is also closed but I believe that...

AMEX Westpac Altitude programme ends 24 Feb 2021

Having had reasons to deal with Chubb (through my AMEX card) all I can say on the insurance offered is, beware and read the PDS - VERY carefully to ascertain if it covers your requirements.

    World's Most Scenic Railway Journeys

Great journey but if you are happy to travel on local trains as we did, using a Swiss Rail Pass it is much, much less expensive. No meals or drinks served by staff but travels the exact same line and the exact same views without all the tourists! Switzerland has some fantastic rail options with...

Not your usual trip report: TXL to LHR, July 2007

Not sure about the latest discrimination abilities of airport X-ray machines nor about the discrimination abilities of the staff operating - them. Had a brand new, quality carry on bag go through a machine last year at Guernsey Airport (Channel Islands) and the operator was insistent that there...

    Bye bye eBay

eBay Plus = Waste of time and money. If it’s free, take it and save $50 but benefits are very limited. I won’t be renewing.

Ticket price changed from AU$1,491.47 to AU$29,214.22.

Apparently in p-and-t’s world humour and sarcasm are not acceptable. Probably offensive as well.

Sydney - Contactless Payments at Opal readers now available

My understanding is that overseas visitors will be hit with a “conversion fee” every time their card is used. Better for overseas visitors to stick with an Opal card.
