Qantas has always shown the fare class. All you need to do is select the flights you want then at the "check page" right click the page and "view source" and then ctrl f "fareclass" and you will see the fare class. The first letter is always the fare class. EG. 'HFNAU' the fare class is H.

Using JL is best if you want low taxes, but not much availability during december. If you book a JQ flight on a QF ticket you will get a hot meal and amenity kit.
