As long as you like cool climate Shiraz, sometimes known by its original French name of Syrah, you should enjoy this one, especially with the dab of florality provided by Viognier (vee-0nn- yee-eh) a grape worth getting to know in its own right.Cheers!

I agree, it was not of great quality but I would be interested to taste it again (a la recherché du temps perdu) and see how it fares today. It may well have had a clean up in the post Communist Hungary. Much of Central Europe is capable of making very good wine.

The wine known as Bull's Blood, from Eger, is worth tasting. One of those lean but rich wines very unlike the New World jammy fruit bombs. A bi glass of Egri Bikaver with a plate of goulash. That's a warming thought for a day like today at Bardwell Park, NSW.
