Currently using the NAB visa platinum as their signup offer was rather enticing at the time. I already have a free flight attached to my ANZ travel rewards so losing the AMEX isn't a big deal.

Just cancelled my plat edge. Was offered 15k to stay, but with the changeover of the free flights to a $200 credit, that's just not enough to keep the card. So goodbye plat edge!

Thanks Trooper. We are quite familiar with JHB as that is my hometown and would prefer to fly from Changi (SIN) instead of JHB or KUL. I have no love for either of those airports unfortunately! Logistic /family location wise, SIN is also a better route as the causeway jam is a painful journey...

Often it is a case of the airline not allowing the check in. My friends tend to get told to buy a seat for their cellos as they aren't allowed to check it in. Or if they do check in, the airline bears no responsibility in the wellbeing of the instrument. Given what we pay for our instruments...

The new annual fee applies - but I get a rebate on the annual fee I've already paid for the rewards classic card. That was the best offer they could give me at that point.

Had mine changed from Rewards classic to this new Adventures card yesterday. Went into a branch and the bank manager processed the change. He did mention that as it was a very new product, he was not well versed with it so he ended up ringing the credit team / call center anyways for questions...
