Easiest way to secure 250k Velocity points

I want to use them to secure two business class return flights from Europe with Singapore Airlines (I already have enough points for one way, so the extra are to get me home again).

Easiest way to secure 250k Velocity points

Spending money is a given, but I don't spend enough to earn 250k in three months. Likewise, say a $400 flight (equivalent to the annual fee of a card) is only going to earn me <10k points. Applying for credit cards and making a few phone calls is an easier way to accrue a lot of points quickly...

Easiest way to secure 250k Velocity points

Currently have AMEX Velocity Platinum, so that's not an option. Thinking the below: - apply for Virgin High Flyer cards for wife and I (120k each over 3 months) - cancel AMEX for wife and I and secure 15k each retention bonus - add each other as additional card holder for 5k each This gets us...

Amex "I'm going to cancel my card" - bonus points given thread.

I rang up to cancel Velocity Platinum card - offered 15k. I haven't spent a huge amount on it - only about $25k across a year with no interest paid. Are people getting more with a similar spend? Also, has anyone cancelled the card in less than 12 months after being rewarded a retention bonus?

    Securing a business saver

So I can fly to Rome (777), Frankfurt (A380) or Dusseldorf (A350). Any reason to pick one over the other? I flew back from Dusseldorf last week on the A350 and was impressed, although Rome probably makes the most sense as it's easier to get to Milan.

    Securing a business saver

Thanks for the quick reply. So it's possible to book say option B which can then be transferred to option A if waitlisted?

    Securing a business saver

I need to travel to Europe between either 29 June and 3rd July 2018. Ultimately I need to end up in Milan, but am happy to fly to anywhere in Europe. Obviously I'd like to secure business class flights using the "Saver" fare. There seem to be some available, but not too much. Having not much...

ANZ Rewards Travel Adventure now 60,000 velocity points; 1 domestic return flights

Re: ANZ Rewards Travel Adventure now 60,000 velocity points; 1 domestic return flight This seems to have expired in the last day or two? I'm using the link in the first post. If I go directly via the ANZ site there are no offers with bonus points.

Best way to earn bonus points

Thanks, that link is great. However, you can't get the bonus points more than once - from the AMEX T&C's: 1. Offer only available to new American Express Card Members who apply online, are approved and spend $1,500 on their new Card in the first 3 months from the Card approval date. Card...

That should be July 2018! 2017 is already locked in thankfully.

Best way to earn bonus points

I've already used the AMEX cards for the 100k velocity points, and also managed to get the NAB 250k home loan offer. The helped to pay for this years trip ;) Thanks - sounds like I should do some research into these. The credit card bonus points are certainly the easiest!

Best way to earn bonus points

I'm looking to book two return business class flights to Europe for July 2018. I currently have 200k points, and from what I can tell will need to get to around 500k points. I currently have a NAB and American Express card to earn points (so can't use their bonus schemes, as they have already...

Business reward with SG - huge cost?

Of course it's a glitch in the system, amusing none the less. Would hate to book it and then have an issue though! Luckily I've managed to find some Business Saver tickets all the way from Europe (just not the first pick of airports) so don't need to worry about the bus :)

Business reward with SG - huge cost?

No, literally bus. "Please Note: Travel will be by Bus between Dubai Bus Station and Singapore"

Business reward with SG - huge cost?

Thanks for that - that makes a bit more sense! 75,000 points or $800, hrmmmm!

Business reward with SG - huge cost?

I'm looking to travel back from Europe in July next year. Unfortunately I can't find anything in business class available for two people from Europe, but I can from Dubai which is good enough. I can fly Dubai > Singapore > Perth with Singapore Airlines. If I book through Velocity it is 204,200...

Velocity Points a scam? [How to Optimise award search]

Absolutely. Good suggestion re transferring and flying via Istanbul. I ended up calling them and apparently there is an issue with Etihad flights online. They confirmed availability over the phone for 2 x business class flights at 280kt points.

Velocity Points a scam? [How to Optimise award search]

Excuse my ignorance (new to Velocity) but how do I search for a reward seat? I selected "Use Points + Pay" and this was the only option that seemed to come up.

Velocity Points a scam? [How to Optimise award search]

I too am confused by this. I recently signed up to Velocity given I am getting 250k bonus points, and wanted to use them for an Athens to Perth flight in August next year. I figured given the time until the booking I would be ok. But looking now at the latest date (15 July) a single economy fare...
