Thanks Tom. When I used the calculator on a few dif J seats, was a bit dejected! The points would essentially vanish in acquiring the J seats that would earn the 200 required SC. Seems like there really is no easy way to rack up the SC. It simply comes down to BIS and J means you get the SC...

Cheers Captain Halliday. That clears that up. I have 500000 points so will book a J (to somewhere) and use points + pay. Have read other threads where that seems endorsed as a sound strategy! Thanks again. T

Thanks GPH. I've been doing more reading and gather that an effective strategy is to book the J seat but then use Points + Pay to actually pay for it. Would you agree? I have over 500,000 points so seems like a good idea to a newbie! cheers, T.
