Yes I've been trying to find PE or J flights from Brisbane to LAX and checked everyday from February to June next year and nothing at all. I can only see economy reward flights. I've saving points for years to snag PE or J flights so I am not happy! I would prefer to fly over September/October...

I only noticed this last week. It probably hasn't applied to existing card holder's as yet, if it is going to affect existing card holders than I think you January statement will be the test. You may be in luck and might just apply to new card holders.

Not sure about ATO, I don't have ATO payments so this does not apply to me. The HSBC card appeals more so to me because of the 2 points per dollar on overseas transactions as we purchase a lot of things online with international retailers

I just don't want to have to apply for another credit card and get another enquiry on my credit file. At least the annual fee was only $99 for the 1st year. I was hoping to get an additional card on my partner's HSBC Qantas Platinum card account but that has turned out to be a painful process...

No 100% sure on that, it applies to me but I've only had the card a couple of weeks. Wouldn't hurt to call and check, so much for the capping remaining unchanged like I read in a few articles.
