What to do next...? [Newly Silver, expansion?]

Jetstar just got fined $1.95m by the Federal Court so they may need to be a bit more proactive about regaining any public trust they had. Personally, I’ve never had a problem with them.

What to do next...? [Newly Silver, expansion?]

I guess it depends where you're going.

What to do next...? [Newly Silver, expansion?]

I did. Apart from the fact that i was difficult to navigate, the packages thing was really hard to avoid.

What to do next...? [Newly Silver, expansion?]

NO Status Credits? For a business flight like that (which is only Premium Economy on any other airline anyway)? That's cheeky. Okay, buy the fare first, then chase the package deal. Got it.

What to do next...? [Newly Silver, expansion?]

Thanks again Richard. Yes: this is exactly the thing I'm talking about. I sort of already knew it but I'm not really sure how it's researched etc.. Mostly, I have been looking at sites like Momondo, which seems to be quite extensive. I probably don't have enough points to start trading away yet...

What to do next...? [Newly Silver, expansion?]

Thank you! I just returned from Hong Kong, which I did on Qantas PE. As I have a bad back and I'm quite tall, economy wasn't an option unless I wanted to be carried off at the other end... Some things I can reasonably afford. I'm just being careful at the moment but I'm slightly optimistic...

What to do next...? [Newly Silver, expansion?]

Okay, that looks like good information. Thank you. I can already see the rate at which silver membership earns points at a different rate from bronze.

What to do next...? [Newly Silver, expansion?]

Is anyone going to help here? There seems to be a lot of nudge, nudge, wink, wink and not much else. Do I wait for Qantas to announce double status points and do a status run? Do I buy up 10,000 FF points (through another program 'cause Qantas is expensive)? Where do I find flights 12 months in...

What to do next...? [Newly Silver, expansion?]

Europe. Next year. Probably March to May. Don’t really care which country I start in. Prefer ports like Vienna (because I know it very well) but Berlin or Copenhagen would do. All those places appear to be, by and large, a bit cheaper than London or Paris. What do I do now?

What to do next...? [Newly Silver, expansion?]

    So where do I start?

What to do next...? [Newly Silver, expansion?]

What if I wanted to use BA points on Qantas? Presumably, I can't do that...? Yeah, I know. Everything seems to stop at about the 11 month mark. So how do you get any idea of what the fares are or when will be the optimum time to book? Where are you getting the info from? Okay, I'm game...

What to do next...? [Newly Silver, expansion?]

So what's the point of belonging to another program like say Alaska Air (or whatever it's called)? I have listened to the webinar that talks about getting a membership and using a high point exchange credit card to buy point. Why do that if I can't redeem them for a Qantas fare. At the moment...

What to do next...? [Newly Silver, expansion?]

I've had a look around and haven't really found the advice I'm looking for, despite AFF's very clever search system. I have about 100.000 points and just became a silver member. Not many points, I know, but that's how it is. I'm not a member of the Qantas Club. The app advises me I have 340...

My Qantas FF points - anyone else had this happen?

@ Buzzard: Ha! Not likely mate! Please, no more posts advising to "move on". Not helpful. Advice about using the Qantas toolbar; very good. I don't use these things. What does it do?

My Qantas FF points - anyone else had this happen?

Oh no! Please don't think that way. I know that I won't get them back (and said so). I have actually remained with the program and accrued over 40,000 points since. I have also gone into the Everyday Rewards program and I use it virtually every day.

My Qantas FF points - anyone else had this happen?

Hi all, this is my first post so please be gentle. I joined the Qantas FF programme in 1992, as reflected in my membership number which is under 120000 I had accumulated only a modest number of points over the years but as of Jan 2012, I had nearly 75,000. Not many but they were kept for a...
