Had a few schedule changes to deal with today, availbility search shows no more MEL-KUL flights on EK after 30OCT. Bit of a bugger.

QF697 dinner service Melbourne to Adelaide on Friday night. Was pleasantly suprised with the chicken, polenta and vegetables. Washed down with a few G&T's - cudos to the FA who provided me with one last beverage well in to the descent, top service!

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options Was fishing around today and found HNL-xLAX-LAS-xCLT-DCA-xMIA-PTY-xMIA-JFK-xCLT-xPHX-HNL in F for approx $2390aud, not bad for an even 1000SC, plus ability to get MEL-HNL-MEL dirt cheap with jetstar :)

Yeah, anything under 24hrs they should check bags through as its considered a transit and not a stopover. Unless you request otherwise.

Keen to hear how often they get checked through - did this routing a few years back and check in staff at coughet were useless, so we got stuck with our bags in Singapore. Doing the above flights in August, so keen to hear recent success rates!

Swiss/Lufthansa can be had for around the $2k mark quite regularly these days. I found an interesting one today involving Jetstar (mel-hkt) then Qatar (hkt-doh-ams) Norwegian (lon-nyc) and Qatar again (nyc-doh-mel) all told it can be done for around $1500 :)

Qatar also only serve 2/5 major cities though, so they are somewhat proportionate, though only once daily.
