Best value for return flight MEL-LHR with 2A, 1C, 1I with part points

Sorry for my delay in replying - and thank you again for your reply! In our case, it just wouldn't be worth going business class, since we have to pay for both of us and are unlikely to have 250,000 points in time! Plus we'd have to pay for the kids, as well, and I don't know about prices...

Best value for return flight MEL-LHR with 2A, 1C, 1I with part points

I've looked at the points rate for that (and used my Coles flybuys for purchases) - so probably not :) But I figure at least the points will reduce the cost of the flights, when I don't ever spend more to get points with the exception of signing up for the EDR credit card which I am now...

Best value for return flight MEL-LHR with 2A, 1C, 1I with part points

Thank you for replying :) In terms of the "taxes" required to be paid, I didn't realise they were such a high proportion - roughly 50% of the fare! That's definitely help me understand the process a little better, and knowing the tax price helps better understand the points+pay value...

Best value for return flight MEL-LHR with 2A, 1C, 1I with part points

Hi all, In the last few years my husband and I have been accumulating points, as his parents live in London and we'd like to go back to visit them. Currently I'm pregnant with our second child, and our daughter is almost two. At the moment we have about 78,000 points - not heaps, but enough to...

    Vegetarians in the QP?

Oh dear, I have been caughteth. Yes, I do indeed harbour a strong hatred for anything that grows in the ground. I tried to pretend it was for the animal, but really ... it's those damn brussel sprouts that started it! And when I'm not pregnant, I do on occasion enjoy a nice drink; my husband...

    Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

I think it's all relative. If you have no other cards, $100k in income and few expenses, it's likely to be a breeze, but if you're earning $50k, already have a credit card or debt and have expenses, you'll probably be declined. It really depends on your personal circumstances. However, it seems...

10,000 Bonus Points With New OnePath/ANZ Life Insurance

An update on this: The 10k bonus points are still available, but the minimum is for 6 months - I think they cottoned on ;) However, for my husband it would cost $60 for the life insurance, $50 for accident cover and about $75 for the income protection, which is still 0.5-0.7c per point -...

    What's YOUR QFF goal?

After a thought-provoking post from dajop here, and my current desire to learn as much as I can about earning/redeeming QFF points, I was wondering what your aim is with your points. Do you spend a lot on DOM flights so you can use points for INT flights? Is your main goal SCs? Do you redeem...

How did you become a Qantas Frequent Flyer

No, my husband is level-headed enough not to let me go spending *extra* money to get points - it's just a matter of adjusting how we do things so we get points for what we already do (having said that, I showed him Joshua's and sutho58's stories and he said he'd happily go scouting around the...

Does cancelling cards after points negatively effect future chances of getting a CC?

Re: Does cancelling cards after points negatively effect future chances of getting a Thank you - three really concise answers. I only plan to do it for decent offers (20k+) so I doubt it'll be happening that often, but this information is definitely good to have. Thank you!

Does cancelling cards after points negatively effect future chances of getting a CC?

A lot of people have sort of, in some way, asked this question, but usually it's thrown in with other questions, and whether we have a credit rating system in Australia, etc. I've read these threads...

Win a share of 1.5 Million QFF Points

I love the idea ... but the chances of winning are so small. Also, there are so many people who buy those magazines normally that it seems almost wasteful to spend money on a $10 magazine just for a 1-in-a-million chance to win. If you buy the mag normally, then it works out, but otherwise ...

    Vegetarians in the QP?

I don't mind meat at all - the smell, taste, whatever - it's just an ethical choice. And because some vegos can give us a bad name, I'm never fussy about meat-things touching non-meat things (unless it's seafood, which I've just always found rather gross). I only really drink cider (although I'm...

    Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but does anyone know what the policy is regarding earning points when the card is in credit? For example, if I put $1,000 cash onto the card to pay $500 owing, and then spend $500, do I still get the points for that purchase, or is it not credited...
