    QF fleet age

I am doing AKL - SYD on a 17.5 year old A330. QF AVG fleet age is 13.6 years compared to 6 for EK, 5 for QR, even cashless TG has age of 7 years. The AKL lounge is like 20 years old and a shocker. The QF experience is really lacking. How has AJ gotten away with this aging fleet.

Auckland QF J lounge is disgustingly filthy, worn out, and with s*^t food. Get it remodelled now Qantas!

THIS!!! OMG I can't believe how much slower the new security is than the prior setup.. Those machines just slow everything down oh so much. How oh how did they go from the fastest security of any airport I visit to the slowest!! Who made the decision to buy those ridiculous conveyor machines!

Yes, the problem is now that EK has dropped it's AKL - SYD, AKL - BNE and AKL - MEL flights the opening hours of the EK lounge are extremely limited. This is the only reason why as an EK platinum I would ever set foot in the QF lounge,

They are NOT the same two chairs!! Look closely. Every chair in there is the same level of filth, I just took two photos as that is enough to illustrate the point,

Will you ever fly the 737 MAX?

Ok it looks like the media are finally looking into the right aspects... We need more of this type of coverage so the flying public knows the history and ancient nature of the 737...

Will you ever fly the 737 MAX?

jb747 nailed it when he said "...but I don’t like the reason it’s there in the first place." THIS is the issue most, including the media, are overlooking. WHY did Boeing need to introduce this automatic correction to angle of attack of the stabilizer (MCAS), when every other 737 has not needed...

QF Emirates Codeshare to Auckland Changes!

EK AKL - SYD drop As someone that is EK Platinum and travels a lot between SYD and AKL I was most disturbed at the drop of the EK flights between these two ports. Last night I had the unfortunate experience of doing it very tough in Y aboard a QF Jetconnect 737 SYD - AKL. Cramped, horrible...

New US & UK Laptop/Tablet ban on up to 8 countries

Galaxy note 7 <-- example of unsafe battery in device. There are many stories of iphones catching fire too.

This laptop travel ban makes me feel less safe as a frequent flyer - here is why

I don't doubt that, but why then do all airlines I am aware of, and bodies like the ATSB tell you to not carry LiOn batteries in the cargo hold. I guess because detection/supression technology while good, won't better human senses as far as detecting a fire.

This laptop travel ban makes me feel less safe as a frequent flyer - here is why

Further, within 5 minutes of posting the above I stumble across.. ATSB: "Mobile and other electronic devices such as phones, laptops, watches and cameras containing low power lithium or lithium-ion batteries should be included in carry-on baggage only—not checked-in baggage."...

This laptop travel ban makes me feel less safe as a frequent flyer How many times have you been using your laptop in the airport or at home and when you finish what you are doing you close the screen to put the laptop to sleep then sometime later you take the laptop out and discover it's...

New US & UK Laptop/Tablet ban on up to 8 countries

If they can put a bomb in a laptop they can put a bomb in a laptop triggered remotely by timer or temperature or altitude! This is about Trump protectionism. Nothing more nothing less.

New US & UK Laptop/Tablet ban on up to 8 countries

You are missing the part where the UK is just simply copying the USA's actions based on their (USA's) undoubted issuance of a fabricated elevated security threat. and more importantly, Can you or anyone refute any of the 6 points I make about how stupid this directive is!! ESPECIALLY Points...

New US & UK Laptop/Tablet ban on up to 8 countries

This is nothing else than Trumps "America First" approach trying to hit the big Middle Eastern carriers HARD and thus protecting the USA airlines. I mean seriously; Each computer/ large tablet is already X-RAYED on a tray on it's own, and if desired these could be enhanced to image match...

    noise level in aircraft cabins

It was I that made the measurement. Yes I used an app on the iPhone, I did it because it really struck me how loud it was on this flight. I was in 29A on a 777-300. SeatGuru Seat Map American Airlines Boeing 777-300ER (77W) Fortunately for me - I have Bose noise cancelling in-ear phones and...
