Rates of earning SCs on Singapore flights booked via Virgin

I was just looking at VA site...from what I can understand the Freedom Fare (flight code KZFDASER) should give 60 SCs per sector? Sorry, to be so thick about this but just trying to make sure I get the SCs I need.

Rates of earning SCs on Singapore flights booked via Virgin

Thank you. Booking via Singapore Airlines website or the Virgin one shouldn’t affect the earn rate, I’m guessing? Also, if booked on the VA site, can I upgrade to Business using points?

Rates of earning SCs on Singapore flights booked via Virgin

OK, really confused about what fare codes corespond with what earn level (as per the Status Earns Tables on the Velocity website). Specifically, I want the Mr and myself to take a trip to Singapore, and I want to maximise my status credits earn without resorting to paying too much for the fares...

    UpgradeMe pricing and success

I can’t complain...my last couple of BNE-MEL return flights I have managed to nab upgrades for $120-$150 per leg, which I am more than OK with.

    New Velocity website error

I can’t get the Mileage calculator page to load at all! Trying to see if I can work a trip to retain my status, but need the mileage calculator so I can figure it out...very frustrating!

Status Changing Up Mid Holiday - How to get VA to move faster on Delta flights?

I recently did a similar thing (VA flight to LAX and several Delta flights within USA) and I must say I was quite impressed with how fast the points/scs were credited. Status upgrade happened while I was away too, and pretty much within days.

    Roaming Data device....any experiences?

I was trawling around online when I saw this thing https://www.roamingdata.com.au/ It is essentially a portable sim powered wifi box...meaning when travelling overseas multiple devices could be connected instead of having numerous o/s sim cards for ipads, tablets, lap tops etc. Anyone here...

Flying from LA to Cuba...anyone done it?

OK, kool. Sorry if I was unclear...I don't really care who the flight is with...AeroMexico sounds fine too. So, did you have any issues with the questions about what you are going there for, having started in USA? I looked at a test booking on the AeroMexico website and there is a question there...

Getting around in Los Angeles and what area to stay?

I have never been to the USA; hoping to get to LA for my birthday, but I know nothing about the layout of the place. I have been digging around on the interwebs, but have a poor idea about where stuff is in relation to other stuff. And I have heard that getting around can be a bit difficult...

Flying from LA to Cuba...anyone done it?

Hey there! My plan is to go to LA for my 50th birthday. My husband was also looking into a side trip of a few days in Cuba (a place I have ALWAYS wanted to go!). Alaska airlines now does a flight from LAX to Havana, but I gather there are restrictions on reasons a foreigner can travel to Cuba...

    Velocity Gold reciprocal perks?

I recently completed a European trip on Singapore Airlines as a VA Gold member. I got Krisflyer lounge access in Brisbane (great lounge) and in Singapore (very ordinary lounge). As I was travelling alone, I don't know about getting extras in. Unfortunately, no lounge accessability anywhere on...

    Online/early check-in...is it worth it?

I just got an email saying I can now check in online for my flight on Thursday. I have never bothered with the early check in thing before but it got me to wondering; if I have already selected my seat etc, and I have luggage so will need to drop that off anyway, is there any point in doing the...

    Ridiculous carry on baggage

Craziest thing I've ever carried on was a human skull (real, not plastic) that we found when clearing out my granfather's house. He was a Doctor, and it had been from his med school days before plastic ones were the norm. I packed it carefully in the hand luggage, fully expesting some questions...

    Travel Insurance options

Thank you all for your input. I did a bit of reading today and ended up going with Travel Insurance Direct. I have used them before (many years ago) though luckily have never had to make a claim, and the Product Disclosure Statement looks to cover everything I need.

    Travel Insurance options

There seem to be so many different options for travel insurance out there, and short of spending countless hours that I can't spare trying to read product disclosure statements written in incomprehensible legalese, I thought I would pick the brains of the marvellous and helpful frequent flyers...
