I arrived this morning from LAX-SYD. I had a PE ticket waitlisted for J both ways. I didn't get it on the way over but received an email confirming my upgrade 3 days prior to departure for the return journey. I couldn't allocate my seat online so I called and was allocated a window seat.

true true. That was why I was posting to threads in the playground where I could say something relevant. I reached my 15 and was able to PM Virgin Australia in reply to a query relating travel with my disabled daughter.

Honda Odyssey. I spend my money on lots of overseas travel rather than a car that matches the mum brigade.

The excitement as we're about to land and I can see the city I'm landing in. And just flying... the whole experience of not having to be anywhere or be doing anything.

At home just a cup of coffee. But when I travel I want bagels and the waffle machine :P

We stayed at Crowne Plaza for $60/room (2 queen beds) as the *secret* hotel on expedia. It's fairly big and busy, but the rooms are spacious, quiet and the beds are super comfy.

I have never flown QANTAS long haul international, but my many UA flights still give me nightmares ;) VA all the way.

If travelling alone, the personal space is a definite plus. Love the boarding drinks and after dinner liquer :) The personalised customer service makes the long trip so much more pleasant. After my end year trip this year I'll only be travelling PE with my kids as teenage boys are just too big!

Now I don't have to fly via BNE when we go to SIN :p

So Gold appeared today :p Just to wait for the shiny new card! Now to work on my lounge membership refund and some retro points for my family (that I was credited and not them :shock:) Am going to SIN with EY next month. Fingers crossed the points/status will t/fer smoother next time. Thanks...

less than 24hrs later... the points and SC have been credited but alas no gold as yet. I'll give "Kevin" another day as it's pretty black and white now that I earned over 500SC within 12 months.

On the 6 (Virgin/Pacific) flights within the last 12 months taken with my 7yo daughter (who has mild cerebral palsy and uses a stroller as a wheelchair), despite reassurances from the check in staff, her stroller has been sent to oversized baggage and not the gate as requested (and promised)...

With the new rolling status credits I was close to gold so I flew EY to SIN in mid July. I received the points & status for the SYD-BNE leg, but nothing has shown up for the BNE-SIN leg. I have submitted a retro claim, but as per usual, I haven't heard anything back. The status credits for that...
