    I know that the Australian Government are looking at changing all the rules of going there. Currently you need a passport even if you are an Australian citizen. They are also looking at ways to make it cheaper to go there like cutting the departure tax. Maybe things will change once this happens,

    I really hope this is the case. Isn't Skywest, Virgin's "preferred regional airline"? It seems like a big coincidence that Rex is having a revamp at the same time as Virgin.

    I personally think its just good customer service to offer a loyalty program. Giving something back for being a regular customer. Also I agree with DrAndyC, a Velocity partnership would be great!

    lol nothing against the airline! Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia will be sharing services from the end of the year. It was a chance to make some velocity points. On a different note I am interested in travelling to Nauru someday soon. What is the accommodation like?

    I wonder if the alliance with Air New Zealand could help. Apparently we will be able to earn Velocity points when flying with them. They are part of the star alliance so if we book through Air New Zealand we may get the points for the other airlines too.
