Do you carry your passport when out and about when on holidays?

While travelling in USA we left our passport in hotel. We were challenged by a poker faced police/border security close to Mexican who insisted that we should always carry our passport with us in USA. It was not a pleasant experience for 2 ho eat seniors.

VA cancels all NZ flights up until NOV22

As far as I can see, at this stage, Air NZ is the only airline worth booking lights to NZ (if your travelling from BNE). Qantas flights from BNE to Auck fly via Sydney, adding several hours to the flight.

    1st Time International Flyer

Your questions are quite legitimate. First up, don't be afraid of a solo long-haul trip. Rather, look on it as an adventure. I travelled solo to Nepal to celebrate my 60th birthday but that's another story. My husband and I have flown business class many times using Qantas points. As its often...

Business class - worth the points?

Hi Peter, I think much depends on the length of your journey - and your age. I have flown economy internationally to UK/Europe many times in my younger years, taking a few days stop over en-route to break the journey. We have also managed a couple of round the world trips in business class...

Walked on broken glass on plane

While you don't expect to find broken glass in the aisle - or anywhere on an aircraft. I think the onus is on passengers to wear some sort of footwear while travelling anywhere outside of their seat. You could try for compensation BUT, I don't fancy your chances. The other point is. Although...

Anybody with any experience getting wiped points reinstated?

I lost some points a few years ago but there are a couple of things you can do to keep your account active. If you have a Woolworths reward card, you can opt to convert each $10 balance to Qantas points. Log into your woolies a/c and follow the prompts. You can also register with Red Planet...

TBIT 'Qantas' Business Lounge - extremely confused, as are staff

Its my understanding that the club lounge staff are not Qantas employees - neither are check in staff at airports, even Australian airports. They don't get the same privileges as Quantas staff so maybe this is the one opportunity to wear "the power badge". No excuse though. They should all know...

Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

I agree. We have 2 woolies and 1 Aldi's where we live plus a couple of IGA - and only about 17,000 population. I will be happy to travel to Coles as I am often in the area where our nearest Coles is - 20 minutes away. I think the biggest winner in our area will be Aldi's.

Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

Yep…I've been a loyal Woolies customer - buying most of my supplies from them. However like many people, I also have a flybuys card - with a $60 credit onit. I shopped Coles this week for all of my supplies. Total bill $93 - plus a savings of $41.18. NEVER had that amount of saving in one bill...

Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

We have loads of Q points transferred from our Amex gold card so our points are always active.

Woolworths reviewing partnership with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

According to Woolworth's…this is what customers want. Well, I was never consulted and as a loyal Woolies shopper, I am very disappointed. I have already done my shopping for this week - at COLES.

I learnt a valuable lesson yesterday

4E was far too quick in ASSUMING that the items belonged to a previous passenger. In fact, if he was hell bent on giving them to the crew, he should have made it clear that he was unsure if they belonged to a previous passenger OR a current one. And asked the crew to check. Nor should the crew...

    Infants in premium cabins

You are so right Jo. I had almost forgotten about coughing episodes. In 2013 I had a dreadful cough (picked up on a 4 week trip to Vietnam/Cambodia then Bali). After a few days in bed, I coughed all the way back from Bali to Bne. I wore a mask but felt sorry for the woman next to me who was...

    Infants in premium cabins

You know your child best. If they are generally well behaved then unless they get sore ears etc (which can happen even to adults) there seems no reason to believe that the child would be anything other than well behaved. If the child is a problem at home - it will possibly be worse on a flight...

    Proof.......The Yowie does exist!

Oversize passengers should be treated like oversize luggage…pay extra and have specially allocated seats for them that do not encroach on the comfort or space of other passengers. I notice in the picture that the oversize passenger has his seat back while the passenger behind is eating…this is...

RSA MEL F Lounge Qantas Official Response (Refused Drinks)

Nothing to do with Royal Brunei not serving drinks. We generally travel Qantas - or one of their associates, or Virgin. If you've ever experienced loud, inebriated drunks on a flight, you'd know exactly what I mean.

RSA MEL F Lounge Qantas Official Response (Refused Drinks)

I agree with Qantas staff…there's nothing worse than intoxicated passengers on any flight…and sometimes its easy to think you are not unreasonably intoxicated when in fact you are. The lounge is not a "free for all bar" Its somewhere that members can sit in quiet contemplation, enjoy A beverage...

Virgin to remove bagfree fares from Domestic Routes

Can see this really got you dk. Problem with carry on luggage is that many passengers carry on OVERSIZED bags which are seldom if ever checked. Plus lots of plastic ones as well. Don't agree with you that whether a bag weighs this amount or that, it takes up the same amount of space. It depends...

Virgin to remove bagfree fares from Domestic Routes

This is a good move. What the "lite" fare did, was to encourage many passengers to buy that fare BUT cram everything but the kitchen sink into their oversize carry on bags. Ive often watched passengers struggle to lift their carry on bag up to the overhead rack only to find that they don't fit -...

Booted from seat at gate - Does it happen often?

I really sympathise with you. You'd taken the trouble to select your seat in advance and must have wondered "why didn't the other family do that if sitting together was important to them" Why the special service for them? To find yourself in a seat that doesn't recline is misery on any flight...
