I was on one of these new 737-800's on Thursday morning from Brisbane down to Melbourne, Rego VH-VZO and as i generally avoid 737's i was pleasently surprised when i got on. I really like the new seats and the seatback entertainment system.

Yes Sam, certainly a lot noisier. One seat to avoid, if it is the same layout as the Air Nuigini planes, is seat 17B. This is near the rear exit door and has a little bulkhead behind it and you cannot recline the seat at all.

After reading through all this thread i have just gone in to my bookings and tried to change my seat allocations to get a few exit row seats for Brisbane to Sydney return trips in May and June. These are all cheap red e deals in economy. I am silver status and one is QF008 which is the 747...

Having flown on the Fokker 100's heaps of times in PNG (Air Nuigini) i will try and get on one of these for my next trip to Mackay in June. I quite like the 100, although it pays to get a forward seat. Usually in PNG they chuck us white fellas in the front anyway.

I love the old 767's and will always select one to travel on to Perth, Melbourne or Sydney and return to Brisbane if i can, rather than a 737.

It was a pleasure to meet everyone last night and i got well and truly wet getting to the car afterwards. I will be there on the 16th. I will just be able to sneak this one in as i am off to Hong Kong and Beijing the next day, so probably won't stay too late.
