( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread.

re: ( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread. Returned from my first J any seat award flight (paid by points + cash, mentioned it in earlier page on this thread) yesterday and all points and SCs awarded as expected - got me over the gold level for this...

Whats your poison...? Wine of Choice...? Whats the wine of choice for AFF...!

great to see all the wine buffs in AFF. My favourites would be too many to mention, my cellar is ridiculously overstocked (see other thread about cellar database software) and I would not disagree with any specific wines offered previously - except may be the NZ savvy blancs, I reckon they...

    My confusing wine cellar

I'm another WineBase fan, I've been using it for about 15 years and it is a Aussie-made software - the guy who wrote it happily replies to all emails you send him, if you haven't already, check the website: WineBase - Wine Cellar Inventory Software You can also download a trial version for free...

re: ( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread. thanks for your prompt and informative response, Markis10. I was not a member of AFF back in March 2010, no wonder I didn't know anything about it. Have to read the thread you linked for me to see all the...

( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread.

re: ( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread. I just booked my first JASA the other day after reading through this thread, you just have to be lucky to find one that fits in with your times and hope that the point score is low, they are quite varied...

Canberra - alternatives to taxis at airport (besides bus!)?

back from Canberra - used the silver service with the $11 booking fee, worked out fine, thanks for all your help. Didn't mind the booking fee with the service I got, so all good. Incidentally, had a great wine tour with Canberra Guided Tours on the Sunday of the annual wine festival, thoroughly...

SC & FF points earn when buying extra seat "for comfort"?

re: SC & FF points earn for buying extra seat "for comfort"? I've just got off the phone to QFF customer service, and after the operator once again had to go ask someone else, the conclusion is that you CAN get SC & points for the empty seat, but you must keep your boarding passes and apply for...

SC & FF points earn when buying extra seat "for comfort"?

thanks Serfty - do you have the URL to that page? I presume it's from the Qantas website? It was the QFF customer service line I called and who gave me that advice. sorry Serfty, didn't realise you had the link embedded in your reply before my previous reply - thanks! I guess the "get out of...

SC & FF points earn when buying extra seat "for comfort"?

I've done a search on these key words and didn't come up with anything close to what I am asking, so here's a new thread. In some threads that I've looked at, members have mentioned that instead of buying a business seat, it is cheaper to buy 2 economy seats but leave one empty for extra space...

combining Qantas gift voucher with points + pay from QFF-can this be done on line?

Re: combining Qantas gift voucher with points + pay from QFF-can this be done on line I did not set up my Amex points for automatic conversion to QFF points, so now can't do it after the rule change several years ago. I have an alternate credit card where all points earned get converted...

combining Qantas gift voucher with points + pay from QFF-can this be done on line?

Re: combining Qantas gift voucher with points + pay from QFF-can this be done on line hi cove, a fellow WAussie. I have $600 in vouchers and just over 60,000 QFF points - nowhere near enough to cover a return business flight to Europe, hence points + pay. Also have around 100,000 Amex points...

combining Qantas gift voucher with points + pay from QFF-can this be done on line?

I couldn't find anything like my question when doing a search, so here it is as a new post. I have a Qantas gift voucher from a refund of business class fares where planes were downgraded after A380 problems last year. I'm hoping to use it in combination with points+pay for business return...

Diners Club Is there any reason to keep this card?

Diners was my card of choice in the late 90s with its Ansett points - had saved enough points for 1.5 return flights to Europe, saving for 2, when Ansett nosedived, bellyflopped and went bust and lost ALL the points with no reasonable recourse to try and reclaim them. Never used Diners again but...

    Foreign Exchange in China

From my Chinese trip last year did a variety of methods when needing local currency: - ordered $AU300 worth of Chinese RMB (yuan) from Amex and picked up before departure, fairly painless and exchange rate ok. - exchanging in a Chinese bank was a waste of an hour of my life, it was so slow and...

    fancy Singapore Restaurant

I would support the recommendation of Ku De Ta, went there in December on recommendation from local expat. Food was great but wine is expensive, but alcohol is expensive anywhere in Singapore. Get to eat outside by the river, it's magic. Marina Sands is great for the view, went up there to the...

Canberra - alternatives to taxis at airport (besides bus!)?

hi JohnK Will be in Canberra for 5 nights, most of the time stuck in a meeting, so not much use for hiring a car. The first full day there I could hire a car and try visiting some of the local wineries if I can force myself to spit all the way around. As long as I can return it to near my...

Canberra - alternatives to taxis at airport (besides bus!)?

thanks Karens - I didn't try the link you provided, just assumed from its title it was to hire a car like Budget or Avis, now that I've actually followed the link I can see what it really is, thanks for that. PS. My reference to quality was for the quality of the alcohol I might have to...

Canberra - alternatives to taxis at airport (besides bus!)?

thanks for the rapid responses. Karens - I don't want to hire a car. But may be prepared to pay for my trip with alcohol for your friend, depending on quality!!;) Excuse my newbie ignorance, what does "PM" stand for? Post me? Snowmoo, what are the contact details for the service you...

Canberra - alternatives to taxis at airport (besides bus!)?

Towncars have confirmed with me that they do NOT provide a Canberra service (unless I wanted to drive from Sydney to Canberra!) - and could not provide any recommendation for an alternative supplier.
