    JAL Y Sky Wider - SYD-NRT

Don't worry about the IFE box. It is not on the floor.

    JAL Y Sky Wider - SYD-NRT

JAL is phasing out W83 config. There shouldn't be any of them in service at this point.

JAL announces new cabin for 777-3 fleet

Details including pictures of the cabins and services have been "released" (or I should say leaked since they have removed the original press release). You can find pictures of the seats and cabins in the my blog post...

    JAL Deepens Restructuring

In order to do a TR, I have to fly on PY an Y first. Thanks to all the crazy upgrade discounts, I still haven't had a chance to do that since they switched LAX-NRT to 773  I am actually interested to find out what the cutbacks are in Y cuz one day I will have to go back to the back cabin...

    JAL Deepens Restructuring

I would pick JAL's LAX flight over AA's on any day. Much better food, service, IFE (130 channels of on demand video, audio and game contents), etc...Not to mention it departs 1hour 20min later than AA's which will give you extra time with your gf at NRT ;) The only thing better on AA's flight...

    JAL Deepens Restructuring

Not to mention HND-SFO will have a later departure time than NRT-SFO due to restrictions. It will likely depart at around midnight, say 00:05 (JAL hasn't officially announced the schedule yet and this is just my educated guess). I think NRT-LAX-SFO will be your better option. If AA wants to...

    JAL Deepens Restructuring

Japan Airlines pulls out of flights on Brisbane route | JAL QF might take over BNE-NRT. Until that happens, I believe JAL is the only OW option if you want direct flight. But I would route it via SYD to fly on JAL as much as possible (cuz I am JALPak) ;)

    JAL Deepens Restructuring

Yup probably they will offer you refund or route through SYD. You should definitely give JAL or the ticketing airline a call ASAP.

    JAL Deepens Restructuring

At least they are keeping SYD and not completely withdraw from Australia yet...bankers are still asking for deeper cut not sure if there are any updates on this during the press conference.

    JAL Deepens Restructuring

The plan has been announced including list of route suspensions, capacity/frequency reductions, etc For complete details, visit my blog. I am still in the process of posting the updates. JAL hasn't updated its Press Release site yet but has somehow uploaded the pdf which I found ;)...

    JAL Deepens Restructuring

Looks like the deadline to finalize the restructuring plan will be postponed to end of August...more time for JAL to fight with the bankers and government who demanded for deeper cuts. On the other hand, local governments keep protesting against JAL's route suspensions...Hawaii even started...

    JAL Deepens Restructuring

Great...Japan Transport Minister said JAL might delay its restructuring plan courting filing today  Google "日本航空 更生計画提出遅れも" for the Japanese article (NHK has a video if you understand Japanese)

You are right. ANA operates Narita-Sendai instead of Haneda-Sendai...my bad (That's why I am JALPak not ANAPak ;))

    JAL Deepens Restructuring

Yes, I need 10 posts to post links. I am actually hoping I don't get there before this story ends. For JAL's sake, they need to resolve this ASAP. Court filing deadline is June and they are still in fierce negotiations! Hopefully the next time I post an update, it will be the end of this...

    JAL Deepens Restructuring

JAL does NOT operate Haneda-Sendai. I believe it's ANA who does. The shortest ex-HND JAL flight is to Yamagata

    JAL Deepens Restructuring

Thanks samh004! But unless you have subscription to the WSJ, you probably still have to google it to read the complete article ;) (geeze I still can't post links...not even when the link is in the reply qoute )

    JAL Deepens Restructuring

JAL CEO Inamori had his first interview since he took over the job. He is in fierce negotiation with the bankers right now and he is trying to keep the job and route cuts as they have originally planned. Hopefully he will win :D To read the WSJ article, google "New Chairman Vows to Revive JAL"

    JAL Deepens Restructuring

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! If JAL does withdraw from Australia, NH may pick up the route! NH is expecting big expansion of its international network this year. JAL's withdrawal is one of the deciding factors to determine which route to launch. According to the media, the Japanese...

    JAL Deepens Restructuring

The original plan by Japanese government (MLIT) has way deeper cut than the one leaked out last week. E.g. Tokyo (NRT) - Sydney (SYD) was on that list too! You can find the original MLIT's plan on my blog: jal-pak.blogspot.com/2010/04/mlits-original-suspension-plan-36.html (sorry can't post...
