In order to do a TR, I have to fly on PY an Y first. Thanks to all the crazy upgrade discounts, I still haven't had a chance to do that since they switched LAX-NRT to 773 :lol: I am actually interested to find out what the cutbacks are in Y cuz one day I will have to go back to the back cabin...

I would pick JAL's LAX flight over AA's on any day. Much better food, service, IFE (130 channels of on demand video, audio and game contents), etc...Not to mention it departs 1hour 20min later than AA's which will give you extra time with your gf at NRT ;) The only thing better on AA's flight...

Not to mention HND-SFO will have a later departure time than NRT-SFO due to restrictions. It will likely depart at around midnight, say 00:05 (JAL hasn't officially announced the schedule yet and this is just my educated guess). I think NRT-LAX-SFO will be your better option. If AA wants to...

Japan Airlines pulls out of flights on Brisbane route | JAL QF might take over BNE-NRT. Until that happens, I believe JAL is the only OW option if you want direct flight. But I would route it via SYD to fly on JAL as much as possible (cuz I am JALPak) ;)

Yup probably they will offer you refund or route through SYD. You should definitely give JAL or the ticketing airline a call ASAP.

At least they are keeping SYD and not completely withdraw from Australia yet...bankers are still asking for deeper cut not sure if there are any updates on this during the press conference.

Looks like the deadline to finalize the restructuring plan will be postponed to end of August...more time for JAL to fight with the bankers and government who demanded for deeper cuts. On the other hand, local governments keep protesting against JAL's route suspensions...Hawaii even started...

Yes, I need 10 posts to post links. I am actually hoping I don't get there before this story ends. For JAL's sake, they need to resolve this ASAP. Court filing deadline is June and they are still in fierce negotiations! Hopefully the next time I post an update, it will be the end of this...

JAL does NOT operate Haneda-Sendai. I believe it's ANA who does. The shortest ex-HND JAL flight is to Yamagata

JAL CEO Inamori had his first interview since he took over the job. He is in fierce negotiation with the bankers right now and he is trying to keep the job and route cuts as they have originally planned. Hopefully he will win :D To read the WSJ article, google "New Chairman Vows to Revive JAL"
