    Amazing Race TV Show

I'm a fan of the series too. It's a shame the US series don't permit o/s entrants - that'd be great. Have a look for Amazing Race Asia - in Season 2 they had an all-girl Thai team that were Aussies, Natasha and Paula.

Where can I get a 3G USB dongle for internet access?

Virgin offer $19/month postpaid with 1Gb. BYO modem though. BYO Modem : Mobile Broadband – Broadband – Virgin Mobile Similar deals with 3, but with more plan choices at different data levels. Around $80-$100 if you don't have your own modem to get started.

JQ boarding calls in QF Clubs - exception or the rule?

NRT QP do calls, the times I've been there.

    Accor A|Club

I've been an A-club member for just under a year - 3 stays so far - had to chase points every time. The upload facility works, but there's no way of telling until points hit your account. Advantage plus seems ok for the food discounts.

The W.A. status points run - need help!

Another idle thought. If you have the points to burn there's some anyseat award flights in J for PER-BNE return in April for 84,252 pts (less 7,854 earn = 76,398) for 160SC, eg Sat 24 April dep 12.30 QF 598 ret 19.50 QF 767. Another is dep April 29 23.30 QF 652, ret Apr 30 8.20 QF 589. If...

The W.A. status points run - need help!

I don't know if the cost would be considered 'reasonable' but maybe Air Asia X PER-KUL/KUL-TPE? It could be done for under $1K return.

    Broken link?

I'm not really sure where to put this (there doesn't seem to be a maintenance forum?), so mods please move it to where-ever's appropriate. The Frequent Flyer Credit Cards link (between Travel Services and the Gazette) seems to be broken? I get a "page not found" response to it.

Bring back the todays posts link!!!!

This happened on another forum I frequent. I ended up creating a bookmark for the "today's posts" search. So I use the bookmark as a one-click workaround. The one for here is: http://www.frequentflyer.com.au/community/search.php?do=getdaily

What do you do if you think you are going to miss your flight?

The train trip takes 36 minutes, so it would have been just under 1 1/2 hours before departure for a domestic flight. Actually we had planned to get to the station another half hour earlier - but a kiddy "emergency" intervened! Like I said, it was a comedy of (our) errors.

    Aussie/NZ Snow/Skiing holiday for a family

Just saw this thread through the AFF Gazette so I can't add anything useful now to the choice of destination debate, but for the NMs there is a wealth of information at Main Page - WikiSki. The immediate most relevant links are the 'new to the snow' and in the resort guide you'll find links to...

What do you do if you think you are going to miss your flight?

I had this happen for the first time in Japan recently, with wife and kid in tow (we had been to the Snow and Ice Festival). JAL flight from CTS-KIX leaving at noon, with a KIX-SYD flight leaving at 8pm. A comedy of travel errors (on our part). Sorry if this is a bit long. There had been...

    Another Status Run Question

Another approach perhaps might be to call QFF to explain about your unfortunate accident and its impact on your flying plans/husband's status. Since he's requalifying for gold rather than trying to get there for the first time they might give him a complimentary re-qualification. Mentioning...

Jetstar International - upgrading to Star Class at check in.

I can't shed any more light on local regulations, but in addition to this year I'm aware from other people I've travelled with that they have successfully upgraded in Japan coming back to Australia for the last few years. Mind you, JQi weren't very well set up to take payment for upgrades by...

It was JPY25,000 from NRT-SYD in Feb 2010 (my travel companions did this). At the airport.

Hong Kong Dollars and currency exchange dilemma

Have a look at :: KVB Kunlun ::. I've used them quite a bit for HKD and JPY over the last few years - and their rates have been consistently better than any bank. Basically in Sydney (and I understand it's the same in Melb) it's a walk-in to get very close to the rates listed on their...
