Status Run - CX PVG-SIN - Help with minimum turnaround times

Update; had to come to Hong Kong from Shanghai this last week again and so did this as part of a multi sector. Did the PVG-HKG-SIN-HKG with a 1hr turnaround in SIN. Made it with enough time to enjoy breakfast noodles in the new T4 lounge :) But I did get a lot of strange looks & questions from...

Status Run - CX PVG-SIN - Help with minimum turnaround times

Thanks all for the feedback. Flights taken & points already posted. The flights out were all on time. But ran int delays on the SIN-HKG & subsequent HKG-PVG leg, but was only an hour which wasn’t too bad. Looks like back here in a fortnight with a trip to HKG again, might considering booking it...

Status Run - CX PVG-SIN - Help with minimum turnaround times

Update, booked first KA flight out (7:20am) from PVG-HKG to not only build buffer but also pop into HKG and see some people & have a beer my favourite bar in town. Must remember in HKG to get on train in time for the 4:40pm flight....

Status Run - CX PVG-SIN - Help with minimum turnaround times

Thanks all for the replies. Will try & book this afternoon while transferring this afternoon in HKG & build in buffer on the outbound PVG-HKG leg. At least if it is on-time I can spend time in CX F lounges :)

Status Run - CX PVG-SIN - Help with minimum turnaround times

Trying to do 3pm PVG departure on 7th to return back by 11am on 8th. This creates the 75min return transfer in Singapore. As there is a minimum of 17 hours travel, I know I am trying to have my cake and eat it too.. Am used to the issue of PVG delays, and have factored this in when selecting the...

Status Run - CX PVG-SIN - Help with minimum turnaround times

Hi AFF's Find myself in Shanghai for the next two weeks and was considering a SCR on OW next weekend (7/8 July). The most suitable I have found so far is CX routing PVG-HKG-SIN-HKG-PVG which in J yields 280 SC on QFF for about $1200AUD. (If any AFF's know of a better yield, i am up for it!) As...

DPS Transit Experiences - QF to QR

Update: Made it through in around 1hr15min from touchdown to cracking a beer in the departure lounge. Longest delay was luggage claim & then outbound security scanning (both of them). Not my first preference as a transit airport, but with the savings gained on cheap Qatar J flights, worth the...

DPS Transit Experiences - QF to QR

We have 3 weeks in Europe that include a wedding for my martinet & motorcycle hire for me, so we are at 20kg each for luggage, so definitely need checked bags. Was going to try at Sydney if they can do me solid & check them through. Would save a lot of scanner time!

DPS Transit Experiences - QF to QR

Thanks Pushka, appreciate the reality check. I had always thought it too tight, but had wanted to avoid a long 12hr layover if I had the early morning flight. I’ll just hope the for best & try not to be overly anxious/stressed as I normally am on doing new transit routes. If it all goes wrong...

DPS Transit Experiences - QF to QR

Thanks for the heads ups! Looks like it is a bit of a tight connection, with about two hours to land, clear immigration and re-check in again. Not ideal way but better to be prepared now. Shall hopefully be able to update in the next few days what happened.

QF A388's out of action - who is inconvenienced? [Merged Thread]

QF127 (SYD-HKG) had equipment change today, so my boss (WP status) was pushed back from Y+ to Y. Wasn't told until he looked at boarding pass and saw it was Y. Asked about it and basically told he should be happy he still has a plane to fly on. No mention of compensation, so forwarded him the...

    Luggage Tag Deliveries

Have done two SYD-HKG-SYD runs now with the tag on my luggage. Got a few curious looks from travellers and also cabin crews but no bites on what the tags are for. It is nice to have an easy to identify tag, that is not a QF status tag :)

New Qantas iPhone app is out...

The Qantas app looks nice, but why oh why could they not benchmark their app against the Cathay Pacific CX Mobile app. That is a fantastic app IMHO. Loads & runs quickly, can check in, check flight times, access the Marco Polo account easily and also provides a nice little city guide for common...

    Confused with lounges in HKG

Just a note to the OP about HKG lounges, it can also depend where you flight is departing from as to which lounge is best. If you are leaving from the high gates (i.e 60 & above) the transit time from lounge to gate needs to be factored it. For these gates The Wing lounge can be very handy!
