    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Returned from a SYD to New York trip. Left on 1 Nov (the day borders opened). Booked the same day in PE. The flight was relatively full but PE about 60-65% full. Relatively uneventful flight. Upgraded to Biz on the way back, courtesy VIP service team. They also sent me an email 3-4 days before...

L1 against my QF# and champagne for me too. I would have preferred the NC headphones though. Not complaining, still very grateful to QF for the generous gift. This year's champagne will sit next to the ones from past 2 years.. ! I am sure eventually they will get consumed..

Just received the Comtes 2007.. With a personalized card signed by Mr. Joyce. Though I don't take any alcohol, appreciate the gesture (year after year!).

First First Experience: EK or QR?

Not sure how much 'pricier' its coming up to but opportunity to experience F on two top carriers is worth considering.. Just beware that coming back down to even J (or even Qf F for that matter) will be like slumming it;)

Will Cathay Pacific leave One World soon?

Thanks for the comments everyone. Seems definitely that my speculation is unfounded. It could have been just me I agree that the OW alliance means a lot to Cathay as they get traffic from JAL, BA and AA. Most of their flights to/from main land are JAL and AA codeshared. Cheers

Will Cathay Pacific leave One World soon?

Thanks corrected that. I know its a speculation and unfounded... that's why posted the question.. as I am not sure either. But posted if others have similar experience or if anyone knows anything.

Will Cathay Pacific leave One World soon?

Just some random observation. CA is known to look after OW members, specially OWE. It has always been a delight flying with them. In the past few months, I have noticed that they have stopped on board greeting of OWE flyers, as in the past and also they didn't mention anything about One World...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

This is my third year as P1 and most likely will requalify this year too.. and I can say that on balance my experience has been underwhelming too.. There has been occasions of 'above and beyond' but often the on board treatment is worse than WP, as crew somehow keep missing the 'O' in the end...

TBIT arrivals - Express or Kiosk?

OhIC.. sorry I missed that. I think you still will be OK. all the best!

TBIT arrivals - Express or Kiosk?

Though the process at TBIT arrivals have improved, it is still very much a matter of how many flights arrive within a 20-30 minute window, your flight's # in that sequence and also whether you are one of the first off the plane or last few.. In August this year, traveling with a colleague, I...

    HKG lounge access

Being QF SG, you have One World Sapphire tier status. So you and a guest have lounge access in HKG and at LHR. https://www.oneworld.com/ffp/lounge-access I have been allowed in the One World lounges with my family without any problems even when I was SG. So, i think you should be OK. BTW, in...

    Another QF catering fail

There are thousands of flights everyday across the globe, so by your logic it's ok if every now and then a few crash due to human error.. as "its humans who are working for them.."... the airlines should stop spending billions that they do on security and regulatory bodies on compliance..

    Another QF catering fail

Off topic JessicaTam, a quick question for you.. have your ever recieved an op-up when you have had a special meal request? I used to request AVML as my dietary preferences are similar to yours, but very rarely get an Op-up. Infact a couple of times I know some WP (once even SG) scored an Op-up...

    P1 Fail

slightly off topic. I guess maybe that is part of the problem. once we experience exceptional service beyond our expectations.. and then that becomes the expectations that we will be 'wowed' everytime. after that we can't expect normal service anymore. I know everyone's expectations and...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

I think your points are very valid. sometimes 'white lies' are told to tell people what they want to hear. or to salvage a bad situation or even, as you suggested, staff may not be fully aware of background circumstances. To be honest this is part of the reason I don't want to divulge the...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

This is not the only time when I have been given varying versions by CSM and the SST. A little while ago CSM told me that my name didn't appear in her list as WP1 but SST told me that everything was ok. So who do you believe? In the end SST said "we have investigated as far as we can. Nothing...
