    Acronyms on JQ Boarding Passes

I found out that its handy to keep your JQ boarding pass in your pocket: recent trips to/from MEL-HNL I needed to show the flight crew that I had pre-purchased food and IFE. Neither had transferred to the pax manifest. So there are a whole new bunch of codes for the meals you pre-purchase, most...

QF Lounge in Honolulu - has moved

Not sure if many are aware but the QF lounge moved this week. Due to a aircon flood the lounge at HNL has moved from above gate 26 to the ground level. The QF website has the location as near gate 2. But it's easier to get to via the stairs behind Starbucks, near Gate 14, or Gate 13 and walk...

How to keep in touch on a long trip?

On a recent trip to the US, I used my Viber via wifi and bought a T-Mobile local sim, and used that in my Galaxy Note. Mostly for access to maps and finding local things to do etc.

Westpac's Global Alliance is via their Debit Mastercard, no fee at Bank of America ATM's, but there is a 3% conversion fee, balance enq's are free, purchases attract a 2.2% conversion fee. Also, there are NO Bank of America branchs/atm's in Hawaii :) At such short notice, I'd either just use...

However, just returned from SFO where for the week I turned off 3G...
