Points and SCs on South African Airways?

Hmm. I've emailed SQ over this and they directed me to a link which says the flight will earn both Krisflyer and Elite miles. Now I'm confused. I swear I read on here SQ don't offer miles on Star Alliance partners when it's not on Star metal... help? I fly tomorrow and I'm not sure which card to...

Points and SCs on South African Airways?

Old topic but I have to ask the question! I am booked on a SYD-JNB flight next week and unfortunately SAA came in $3,000 cheaper than the QF fare. Amazing isn't it. I will quite comfortably requalify for QFF WP, but I am just short of Star Gold on my Krisflyer account. What are my options...

J fare help - Sydney to Prague

Interesting website. Thanks so much Serfty. I am looking at departing Sydney on March 16 to Jakarta, then Jakarta to Prague by Sunday March 20, then return on Thursday night March 25. Trying to punch it into the Matrix website but it might take me a while to learn :(

Is Frequent Flyer Miles ownership moving from employees, to employers?

Interestingly enough I am starting to see companies in my industry advertise jobs with perks listed as follows: 12% super 18% commission rate Fully maintained company vehicle Personal use of Frequent Flyer points At first I was appalled that it had now become a perk, but reading this thread...

J fare help - Sydney to Prague

Hi all, Was looking for some suggestions here. Work is paying for a combo fare to Prague for a meeting from Sydney in March, and the tickets tend to come in at $7,000. Unfortunately the combo fare involves SQ or QF from Sydney to Singapore, and then you pick up one of the Lufthansa airlines...

To platinum or not to platinum

What?? How have I become the bad guy here?? Djfuzz: I was credited the business class status credits and points. I never said I wasn't? What I didn't get was the refund of points for flying economy not business, which is what I paid for and what I was offered by: W**** the ground...

To platinum or not to platinum

Sorry you two have misunderstood the situation it seems; my route never changed. I was just downgraded for one leg which was no big deal at all. I negotiated with the ground manager in Melbourne to keep the business class status credits and also get the points refunded for the change. No big...

It's not my job to A) have to chase this up in the first place because they couldn't be bothered calling me to explain the outcome and B) educate Qantas' staff. Agree?

To platinum or not to platinum

I have to agree DrAndy. I have just completed flight 3/4 of my second CBR-SYD-HBT-MEL-CBR status run two weekends in a row. Absolute hell and I question the value of it all. Should have listened to some of you in the first place! Overnighting in Hobart is reminiscent of my days as a war criminal...

Yeah I called her and she checked the T&C's for me. ASA only accrues points and SCs on the first seat purchased. Have rebooked another flight which means two drives to Canberra!

To platinum or not to platinum

Because I am earning 360 for 88,000 which is what I need?? I've never been to Canberra or Hobart either. I don't have the double promotion. If I did this itinerary would cost me 44,000 for 400. Much better value than the one you suggested.

Thanks, booked. 88,000 points for 360 SCs. Had to come back via Melbourne. Won't be using points for a while anyway so no major loss. Driving down to Canberra, using a parking voucher compliments of Qantas, hotel cost in Hobart at the airport = $126. Very cheap way to Platinum in my mind.

I'm begging someone to answer my question haha: If I book two JASA CBR to Hobart on the same flight will I net 400 SCs? Time is of the essence, I have one month to qualify and this will be the difference between me going for WP or not. THANKS!

To platinum or not to platinum

I always find it's easier to maintain than achieve for some reason though. Also as I mentioned the anytime lounge access is a big plus for me. Worth the effort and points. Anyone have an answer as to whether I can book two JASA award seats in my own name on the same flights? 84,000 points for...

kpc - can you tell me how to get that itinerary? I've been trying a while now ! Dave - I see the value in it as I described in the earlier post. Another question for you all - I have worked out that if I'm creative with my work travel over the next six weeks I only need an additional...

Thanks for the reply guys. After I hit post I saw a bunch of similar threads come up and read about the benefits. Any time access would definately be of interest to me, I live close to sydney airport and reguarly meet transiting passengers for a beer. Frustrates me that I can't get them in on...
