The view from my "office"

I’m posting here because I remember reading in the past when various members toured the Boeing factory. I have the opportunity of touring Boeing early next year, versus some miserable tours including Pike’s Market. I had a coffee there some 10 or so years ago and really don’t need to see it again.

Apart from not asking the tour guide about falling doors, is the Boeing factory worth a visit? Thank you to those in the know.

I enjoyed it some years ago (when B787 was a 'dream' and they were revamping the factory for it). Certainly better than aimlessly roaming around Pike's IMO.

Sounds like a rhetorical question from an AFFer 😉

Went to both in 2009. Being a bit of a tech head, an aeroplane factory trumps some market anywhere anytime.

Thank you for the responses. I realise I have been very foolish even asking the question! 🤣 I am putting my name on the list for Boeing right now.

Republika Srpska, contained within Bosnia Herzegovina. Last year during our trip
through BiH, we were mainly in the west, the Bosnian side, where much of the Cyrillic writing on signs was defaced. Crossed over from Croatia this morning, quite a change, a lot of Serbian flags and much more Cyrillic, Banja Luka seems to be very affluent, I was heading to Sarajevo, but will have to save that for next time.
Only seen one mosque so far, but many churches, starting with one in Dakovo, Croatia.

When I left the hotel this morning, I asked them specifically to make sure that my air conditioning was working and that I wanted to be cold. I came back and it was at 23.5° and was actually 25°.

I was not happy, so they sent the technician up to my room. He went to open the window, which you can only open about 2 cm. He then produced a key and now I have my window completely wide open, which he has told me is Verboten but it has shut me up so I think they’re ignoring it IMG_2973.jpeg

Post #6 in @jastel TR "I'll explane my North American trip" is a good read @Port Power

I ended up sticking around, so took the tour at the Bombay Sapphire Distillery. Some interesting stories behind it and the botannical gardens are different.

I made myself a nice coughtail as part of the class at the end, sans Bombay Sapphire 😅

I was unimpressed by Pikes Place...or any... markets. The bubble gum wall there was my highlight of the place, but it is on every To Do list in Seattle and it was my first visit...

The tour is good, only takes about 1.5 hours, 30 mins or so is a movie at the start. The museum part at Boeing is nothing much, the roof views are nice and IF there are planes moving around you can watch there for a while. If you have extra time do the Museum of Flight or the Combat Armour museums.
