Lounge access Nadi

No photo sorry. I am a little curious if there is some flight info on the boarding pass when he scanned it.

Dont recall seeing any list, reception attendant was behind covid screen.

Again, all good, no questions asked......

fj$99 is only approx au$64. It's definitely worth it. It's almost new, clean & you can have a shower there if you want. AFAIK you can only check your bags at the sofitel on denarau as fiji air owns a %.
That’s not true, you can do it at the Sheraton also

Data point: Travelled on a Qantas-issued classic flight reward in economy so the flight was FJ-coded but was able to access the FJ lounge in NAN. The lounge staff scanned my boarding pass and then wrote down “QF Emerald” on a sheet of paper. No fuss made at all.

Same, no issues

Franchise now owned by NAB (used to be CitiBank).

I have a main account, a partner card and 2 rewards add-ons.

Annual fees add up to $95 + $50 + $55 + $55 = $255

One point per $ spent to QFF on all transactions unlimited, no restrictions. Can Buy a car on it if the dealer allows.

Put all of our shopping on it - Woollies, Coles, Target, Kmart, Myer, Bunnings, David Jones all full service airlines, and dozens of others etc . If the business online doesn't use Diners specifically but uses PayPal can usually charge it that way by linking the card

Unlimited access to airport lounges in around 1300 locations (one adult entry per card - so we have a card each to get access but only one account).

Free travel insurance.

Its a charge card not a credit card, so you have to pay it off every month.

Yep, I had a co-branded AN Diners card back in the day…. and I always pay off my cards in full every month! (direct debit)

Yes i use to have cobranded Ansett. The current one is cobranded Qantas.

Slightly off topic but quite relevant I think.

I know this has been asked and discussed before.
However I am wondering if there is any recent experience with the following:

QF WP booked on FJ code from MEL.
IE, classic reward which books with an FJ code accessing the MEL F lounge?

There’s seems to be a bit of availability for these rewards.

I am aware that strictly the rules say no, but surely it would be a common situation.

The QF lounge access rules still specifically exclude OW Connect partner flights ie FJ marketed (coded) flights. Expect to be very disappointed if booked in whY with FJ code.

# The flight number must be operated and marketed by a oneworld® carrier. A oneworld® marketed flight refers to a flight with a oneworld® flight number, eg QF1 or AA222. A oneworld® operated flight refers to the actual aircraft or 'metal' on which you fly, eg Finnair aircraft. Excludes oneworld connect partner flights.

There is actually quite a bit of award availability in J on FJ atm, but I assume that also precludes F lounge access in SYD for WP? I know FJ lounge access in NAN not an issue.

No access to any lounge unless you are in J. Then it's the Marhaba Lounge.

For some of the FJ departures from MEL, the QF F-lounge is not even open at the time.

Thanks Syd.
I did did try to be clear in my question that I am aware of the rules.
The point I am trying to get at, and hoping perhaps one of our fellow posters here has experienced is:
That a QF WP, has rocked up on one of these classics FJ tickets and run the gauntlet and asked at the F lounge gate and could perhaps share the response.

Particularly MEL where there is a mid afternoon departure. I think the QF lounge is open then.

Thankyou.

It's been politely refused.

But you never know your luck!

Stating that it was QF award ticket and only FJ flights were offered might get you some understanding.

So expect to be politely refused and have a Plan-B.

But you never know. QF lounge staff, IME, can have a fair bit of discretion.

Thanks Austman. That is good information.

I didn’t mean to be rude, but I also meant to be clear. Perhaps I failed at both. 😝

I’ve literally been at the entrance to the SYD F Lounge with an FJ BP (QF codeshare) and two peeps in front with FJ code only turned away. They headed off in the direction of the J lounge for further dissappointment.

The OW Connect construct is just dumb when it comes to lounge access.

One workaround (at least ex SYD) is book a return whY trip SYD-NAN revenue (QF code on either QF or FJ metal) and the return flight on points (CR). Generally works for whY but I’ve never managed to get it to work for J.

Hopefully this goes ahead and will simplify lounge access in NAN, but also at the outstations - especially locations with F Lounges! 😁

The OW Connect model was half backed and turned out to be a bit of a fizzer IMHO (as discussed here):
