Staff have been briefed to reassure passengers that no they are not MAX aircraft!
I really hope this is a joke.

Also some of the comments on that news article are comical (every single one gave me a good laugh):
"This is an outrage! The only reason they are doing this is because of woke ideology trying to "save fuel"! Don't change our tips! Tips should never change they are our history and tradition. Go woke go broke!"
"You can do whatever you like with the 737s. That one aircraft I won't ever set a foot on."
I'd say around 20% of the comments were also something along the lines of "I don't fly Qantas anymore", which I find amusing in one of two ways. Firstly the comments are likely made by people who don't fly full stop or probably fly Jetstar thinking they're avoiding QF.

Wonder why they decided to go for them now. Other airlines including VA have had them for years
Well I'm sure the engineers and the ops team recommended it years ago, but AJ pretty much deferred all the capex QF needed so that he could use the cash to return to shareholders --> beefs up the share price --> juices up his KPI's ---> bigger bonus.

QF has got a mountain of capex to fund with the A350's and 737A330 replacements coming in the next 5-10 years. Not that it's AJ's problem anymore.
