Now to figure out if I want a white or blue power point on the side of the island bench. I prefer white over black but do I change it to blue or white?

Today we had sink tapware installed, its a 2 in 1 water filter.

We also had a certifier on site doing certifying things, Im guessing for handover paperwork but we havent had PCI or private inspection yet and the window guy was here with an orange hammer, hitting the rear stacker door frame like he didnt pay for it... oh wait, he didnt .






Pantry should have extra shelving installed in the next 2 weeks but flooring finished. Im impressed with how much light is in the pantry, even with just a simple batten light.



And we had a few finish offs like wardrobe and linen door handles and power points inside the shaving cabinets installed. Wasnt expecting them to be chunky power points inside the shaving cabinets so will be asking our SS if thats the only option and why.



And we had a phone call from the solar panel battery people who should be on site tomorrow at 8am so fingers crossed it all goes well.

So excited! Our solar batteries were installed today by the excellent crew from nepeansolar and the battery is already full and feeding back to the grid. Hubby is obsessed with the app, as it shows how much we are making from the panels . This system means if the grid goes down we'll still have power in the house. We can also add batteries to the system.

I dont know why people are so shocked.... he was just a kid when the originals came out so have been playing this for 50yrs

Reminds me of the time the old neighbours next door had a boorish friend who would play a chord or two from a popular song and then it would just pitter out into simple strumming and then another song. So...... Born to be willddddddd....... da da da, do do do....... Have you everrrr seeeen the raiiiinnnnn... do da and more strumming and repeat. As I was washing the dishes, Melissa next door made eye contact and mouthed sorry to me.

Mr Denali fired up a Marshall amp and got the Les Paul out...... neighbour soon stopped

In the meantime, we visited Wynstan and Sydney Blinds yesterday.

Were happy with the showroom at Wynstan but then saw reviews on line. Of the first 30 first reviews, 27 were negative and 2 of those were complaining they didnt get their deposits back after cancelling the order so from 28 review, 27 were negative. Will get quotes from both next week but doubt we will go with Wynstan so its a pricing and information exercise. Looking for Veri-shades, sheer & block out curtains, blinds and crimsafe type doors and screens. Oh, and a couple of plantations for the giant bathroom windows

I have used these guys for indoor blinds for years and they are brilliant.

I also had outstanding service from The Blind Factory (yes I was sceptical) and really really happy with my outdoor shades (and we have a lot and coastal).

We asked the W company to quote for internals and measured it all wrong so gave them the flick. Have also used the L-ex company abd both times needed refunds for poor work. Just a sample of n=1

When I was getting quotes I made an appointment with Kresta. After two days of trying to change the appointment by phoning I walked into the local store and cancelled the appointment because if I couldn't even get them on the phone to change an appointment I didn't want to deal with them if anything went wrong. I don't like companies that have a 13 number that you have no idea where they are and no showrooms

Used them 40 years ago at our first home and swore never to use again.
Having said that, we lived at our present home for about 5 years before we decided to do anything about blinds/curtains etc.

It's crazy how much excitement and joy these holes in the ground and kerb brought us today... our final stormwater began! As we don't have an easement we literally have to push water uphill without a pump, thanks for that special joy Council, so this is a big week for us. Fingers crossed the retention pit dig out can be done tomorrow as they're predicting rain.
