This past week we went to the smorgasbord at Epicurean which is in the Crown Towers at Burswood. It is pretty good and you need to book.

Yes we like Matilda Bay Restaurant especially when the pod of dolphins come by.

Have you been to Zen Japanese in Subi too? If so, how does it compare?

Have not been to Zen for a long time.

Zen is good but Satsuki is more authentic to true Japanese taste. You see more Japanese and Asian eating at Satsuki than Zen, which tells you something.

Right a visit to Satsuki is going to be on the cards in the near future for myself and MrsDaver6. I must have gone by a hundred times, but never really thought of going on. I don't suppose you know off the top of your head if they allow BYO?

Another vote for Kallis in Leederville we go a few times a year and have never had a bad meal.

This isn't seafood and not that close to the CBD but is not far from where we live and it is definitely worth trip in our opinion and one of the first places we take visitors.

Millbrook Wines

They recently had a write up in the New York Times

Millbrook Winery, Outside Perth, Is a Locavore Wonderland

NO to BYO as they are fully licenced.

Lunch is the best option and value with all the Bento boxes, while dinner is a different menu.

Bumping this thread as we will be over in Perth for the Easter weekend. Interested in any recommendations for good seafood - will be travelling with a 5 year old and lunch venue is preferable (I appreciate some places aren't open for lunch over the weekend).

By far the best seafood restaurant near Perth is Red Manna down on the Mandurah foreshore. Some of these Perth people clearly don't venture south of the river!

That's not south of the river; it's just north of Antarctica :D.

SoR?!? If I'm going to get my passport out and go overseas, I'll just go to Singapore :)

Tks kids - never knew this thread existed - if my guts isn’t big enough when I arrive PER sure as hell will be when I leave!!!

I recently ate at Balthazar in the CBD and was very impressed.

My son says Yarri at Dunsborough is very good. Being in town it will be open for dinner. Chef/owner is formerly the long-time chef at Vasse Felix and highly awarded. Dunsborough is the closest town to Bunker Bay. You may find a taxi service is available and is not too expensive.

If you're in Bunker Bay (or anywhere nearby) I would very highly recommend lunch at Bunkers Beach House Booked ahead and if the weather is decent, ask for an outdoor table with a view. Food is really fresh and tasty with great service and amazing views. Good to go walk it off after.

With Little Creatures, are you talking specifically about the brewery? Helm looks interesting - have you dined there?

Yes, the brewery is highly recommended. Was started by 4 local guys and several years ago was purchased by a Japanese brewer for lots of dollars.

Anything new or interesting opened recently in Perth or freo? Restaurants or cafes... ? Have to show some Melbournites around and they have very high standards as all Melbourne residents do...

(Not after tourist traps or anything Crown related)

We enjoyed having dinner at the Reveley when my sister visited last month.

It is sort of touristy though being on Elizabeth Quay.
