Hi everyone,
I will be flying SQ J class into LHR around 715pm, and i have some questions about the fast track lane in T2 Heathrow.

When you enter passport control area, are there signs pointing you into the fast track lane ?
And is it generally faster than the normal queue for non EU/UK passport holders ?

Yes, there are signs .. its on the far right.

BUT its a lottery whether its faster than the general queue. Last time I used fast track, the guy I benchmarked that entered the ordinary queue the same time as I did fast track, got through 20 mins sooner than me (I took me 40 mins, queue of about 15 people, 2 agents processing ...).

IF the ordinary queue is less than maybe 6-8 zig-zags and the fast track is more than 15, then I'd go the non fast track way.

Problem is if one of the 2 agents doing fast track has a 'problem' client, then its down to one. And if that person is slow, or has another problem client, or a family of 6 to process, the whole queue simply stops.

Not nitpicking but Fastrack in T2 is on the left as you enter the UK Border area.

Far right is UK/EU smartpassport gates.

At 7.15pm (assume SQ 318) normal queue can also be quiet as Roo mentions above.
