Just completed another one of these (in Y) today. An exhausting business, (about a two hour wait for a call-back, about an hour and a half talking/on hold, and another 30 mins or so for a final confirmation) but a few things I noted. 1. Latam will still be in OneWorld until the second half of...
The whole seat allocation business can get pretty annoying. We tend to book a long way ahead, and one advantage of this is that we can get a good chance of choosing our favorite seats, especially on the A380.
But from time to time we are forced to change our flights because Qantas have some...
Oh dear, yet another wrinkle.
I am part way through booking my third Oneworld award and have already spent most of the points on AKL-KIX(Osaka)-LHR. Here's hoping the remainder goes smoothly!
For the remaining flights, when looking at dummy bookings, (actual dates still around 12 months away)...
My son and family live near Stansted, but the Emirates flight there does not seem to have a QF codeshare. Is there much chance this will change in the near future?
Re: QF Double Status Credits (SC) offer for all :)
OK, found it. It is only on the Australian homepage, not NZ or UK.
I interpret the following to mean all segments of a booking but no stacking of offers.
Only one double Status Credits offer can be used per individual qualifying segment of...
Re: QF Double Status Credits (SC) offer for all :)
Unfortunately nothing about it in my email, so I guess it is targeted. Good to know Qantas are still offering it though, and I hope some of you can make use of it.
Thanks for so much input! Status runs are not for me, I'll be spending more time travelling than at home for the rest of this year. We generally travel in family groups, so tend to buy economy sale, although I occasionally buy flex if a change is likely. I only use J for the odd occasion where...
I have got just one more flight to book in this membership year, ends Oct. The flight will need to be booked by around midyear, and it needs bonus SC's to keep me at Gold. What are my chances?
My next award route is:
LHR-MAD-LPA (Canaries)
LPA-MAD-SJP (Costa Rica)
SJO-MIA-GUA (Guatemala)
GUA-DFW-SYD-CHC (New Zealand)
CHC-SYD-HKG
HKG-LHR
We may change the route slightly to do a land sector from HKG
Trans-Pacific flights to and from SCL have been notorious for lack of J award seats for some years. The situation may have changed recently, my info is about a year old.
Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview! [not the discussion thread]
Two possible approaches that come to mind. 1.Get to HNL either cheaply on Jet* or QF if they fly there to get the bomus SC's. Then AA in F to Houston or Central America. 2. There may be some semi-flex seats on QF to...
Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview! [not the discussion thread]
Thanks a lot. Even starting from LAX, in Nov the SC/$ price is looking attractive.
Re: Best Status Run Options - A quick overview! [not the discussion thread]
Ah well, I won't be making a final decision for some weeks. Still recovering from a 22 sector RTW (mostly award) trip! That said, for me there is no such thing as too much time in BCN so I will keep it on the radar...
