AFF Review: Jetstar 787-8 Business Class (SYD-ICN)

A nice review, thanks Matt. I enjoyed it. Yes, for the price it's not too bad: but having travelled twice in the cabin, I can say the seat really matters. On the first occasion, I sat in an aisle seat in the bank of two near a window and it was a comfortable experience. On the second occasion...

Qantas Online - Flights keep on Disappearing

That would be agonising: the wait times are now so long for pleb (non platinum) frequent flyers and doubtless stressful to have to re-book.

    Overbooked: 2 boarding passes for 1 business-class seat (LATAM-QANTAS)

Unless there are (overt) ticket terms or regulations to the contrary, I would have thought that the consumer redress was pretty obvious: you paid Qantas to provide a service; they subcontracted it; the subcontractor failed to provide services; and therefore the trader with which you originally...

    Garuda SYD-DPS in Business Class

Thank you for this. I flew SYD-DPS return Garuda in J a few years back—just as the new service started I think—and was pretty impressed. We got an extremely good price—I think it was around $1300 return as I recall—and sadly I’ve never seen anything like that price again. I guess it was a loss...

    Tipping Uber drivers in Australia

I think it’ll be inevitable that drivers will give negative ratings if a tip is not provided. Already I have experienced negative ratings if the trip is deemed too short: as one none too subtly complained to me, ‘it’s only $8 and I have to pay Uber 6 of that, so it’s not worth my effort’. Uber...

    QF SYD-DPS going A330 from 31MAR19

Oh thank heavens. hubby and I flew to DPS on a QF 737 in Y last year and it was quite horrific: a domestic fit-out aircraft flying short-haul international. It was a very uncomfortable experience, and neither of us are large folk.

20k QFF Points for joining Australian Super

I've done the maths on this: 5 months of fees (with the modified cost) equals $42.15. Withdrawal (rollover to another fund) after 1 July does not attract the withdrawal fee. Australian Super's historic return rate is hovering around 10% per annum. So a $350 deposit would attract a return of...

Woolworths - QFF was an error - The Age

If this is an accurate portrayal of Woolies attitude, it is rather symptomatic of why they're doing so badly: poor business analytics. They used to be guns at all this and more recently appear to have dropped the ball big time. The QFF program has been a boon for them -- if their data can't...

Qantas deleted my frequent flyer points without warning!

It's really quite easy these days to accrue activity: get a Woolworths everyday rewards card, link it to your QFF# and buy at least $31 of groceries. This will give you the activity needed to keep your account active.

    QF805 fail

Notwithstanding the flight is only around an hour (much less in the air), it still costs a pretty penny, up there with SYD-MEL. I think OP makes a reasonable point.
