Technically I'd say SYD-BNE QF8 leg as it's classed as an international flight to/from intl terminals.

Should Q have to offer a FLounge if EK offers the F service or is it just a nicety ? It's not as if the EK lounge is at the other end of the terminal, it's right next to the QP.

Agreed. I can access the EK lounge however I find their décor distasteful - I'll put up with QF for another 50 minutes and enjoy more of the wine (best thing in this lounge). Part of me wonders why there is still a FLounge in AKL, to my recollection QF only fly B738's here which are Y and J...

Like straitman said it depends if you're flying solo or with a partner. I've only ever travelled solo on EK in F and recommend 3A or 3K (if travelling solo). 1A/K I find you tend to get a bit of noise from the FA's walking on the lino floors, but then again nothing a good set of headphones...
